| Bee Sting Ramsey was at my friends house playing yesterday when he tried to eat a bee. The darn thing stung him on his nose and I had to pull the stinger out. I felt so sorry for him his nose was swollen for a while then it finally went down. The vet said to watch his breathing, just in case he had trouble to take him to the emergency hospital. This morning he is all better and I hope he learned his lesson!!! |

OH WOW - that's one of my fears with mine outside - POOR BABY !! That had to hurt - you do need to watch for an allergic reaction - Bee Stings are FAMOUS for severe reactions in small animals - your vet gave yu the best advise - I have an ER phone number right at hand just in case of these things..... I hope your baby learned his lesson - but I truly believe if he sees another bee - he'd go after it just because it's in their temperment to play with anything they can grab...If you can SPRAY for bees in your own yard it may help - I'm always looking for beehives - in Texas we get HUGE ones !! Little stinker.... and on his little nose of all places ...OUCH ! | |

| That happend to my little Tino when he was a puppy! I had to rush him to the Vet ER... they gave him a shot of benadryl and a steroid... The bee that got him was dead! A $150 bee sting from dead bee!! If you are going to be visiting this friend again, you may want to get some baby benadryl and keep it on hand!

| its funny that you post this....... my mom and dad have a large dog that got stung by a wasp (we thing she snapped at it and it stung her inside ehr mouth) ... her head bloated up like a football, it was REALLY swollen, my parents got out the "death blanket" for her to rest on because she wasnt doing to well (and my dad sharpened the shovel ) but she is fine... she came out of it, bees and wasps are very dangerous to our babies |

| Eeks-- Keeley was chasing a bee that got in our house a on Saturday, it scared the heck out of me! I started screaming and my husband thought someone must have been dying. He came running in asking what was wrong and I told him... "He's gonna get stung!" I am glad to know that I had good reason to worry. |

| They can be allergic! You just don't know until AFTER they get stung... when Tino got stung that time his little eyes started swelling and he was rubbing them like crazy and he got stung from a DEAD bee! He found in on the floor and was playing with it! I called the ER Vet and since it was his first sting, they made me bring him in. Apparently its like with a human, if they are allergic to bees their throats can start to close and they can suffocate, sp always make sure you have that Benadryl and if its his first sting, I would take him in to be sure! I don't mean to scare you, but I know you are probably a worried mommy like me!

| He is fine now, and he did not learn his lesson. I seen him chase after one early when I let him out to use the bathroom (playtime he uses it when he comes back in). I caught him and told him no. He has been really hyper today since I got home from work. (back to his old self)!!! |

| I remember one day (I think it was last summer) when Muffin and I went for a walk. She stepped on a bee in the grass, but the bee was nearly dead so he didn't get her full-force! Thank goodness! A chihuahua we had a long time ago got stung on her face by a wasp and both sides of her nose were all swollen, but she got over it. It really hurt her, though. |
