| Puppy Hair Cut Does anyone groom their puppy at home?? I want to give my 7month yorkie a puppy cut, but I want to do it myself...at least for the first time. Does anyone have any advice or any "know how"? Thanks!! |

My Lil Man! Donating Member | Yea I trim Reeses myself. I chose to do it myself because if he gets scared or anything I can stop and give him a break and play with him. Makes it not so bad for him. Also if I start trimming, I can see what it looks like as I go along so if I need to do something different to make it look better, I can. If a groomer does it..they do it all at once and when its done its done whatever it looks like is what it looks like. Lol. As for tips....dont try to do it all at once and fast. Take your time and take play breaks to make it not so stressful to your baby. Also...be sure and get a quiet clipper...I have...Oster Golden A5 single speed clippers...they are very quiet clippers! If there are any specific questions you want to ask..go for it...I dont mind. I worked at a Vet's office as a kennel attendant but I was also the one to groom the pets either to be groomed or prepped for surgery. Plus I have trimmed my baby's hair his whole life..he's a lil over 1 1/2 yrs old. Goodluck with everything! |

| Puppy cut I trim my Rocky with baby scissors. He looks sort of cute. Just trimmed off alot because of the heat. Only one of my dogs would ever let me use the electric shaving thingie. I was going to ask everyone - how short do you have your yorkie trimmed in the heat? Rocky is 10 years old and the heat seems to be really bothering him this year. Erika |

| bad hair day I don't cut zeus' hair. And he has been cut twice no problem, but the last time i brought him he cam back to me almost hairless. He needs a trim in the face ( not his body he's still trying to grow it back). Im afraid they will cut him short again. He is only just 8 months and hasn;t seen winter so im doign my best to give him some fur but his hair gets in his eyes and full of gunk. What should i do. |

| I don't, but a lot of people on here do. You can do a search on it, and get a lot of help on how to do it.
