| Sammy went to the vet today Well I took Sam to the vet today because he just finished his last dose of antibiotics 2 days ago after having pneumonia/kennel cough. They said he looks fine, lungs so good, heart sounds good, but still a bit of labored breathing, but NOT AT ALL like it was before. He also started itching his ear like crazy and hour before the appointment and every time he would he would cry. His ear also went limp like it really hurt him. I was so thankful that he did this BEFORE the appointment and not after! They said he does have a tiny infection in his one ear so they gave us ear cleaner and ointment. They also put him back on 2 antibiotics for 2 more wks b/c he's still coughing and sniffly. Plus he has started the reverse sneezing this week out of no where. Scares me to death! He is on Clavamox and Antirobe Aquadrops for the cough and pneumonia. My vet also said that after the 2 wks he has to go back to check on him and then she will probably put him on more antibiotics for a few more weeks since a puppy his size (3lbs...he gained a lb since his last visit!! ) that has pneumonia should be on antibiotics for 5-6 wks...which I agree with. So, hopefully this time the medicine will knock this out completely and he will finally be healthy. Otherwise he is running around like crazy, eating like a little piggy, and starting to love his Mommy more and more each day. Has anyone had their puppy on the antibiotics Sam is on? If so, how do they seem to work? Also, I heard that pig ears are good for their teeth, but is it bad if they chew off a piece and eat it? He also LOVES the greenies, but are they supposed to eat it? I probably sound silly, but I'm a nervous mommy . Anyway, thanks for thinking of Sammy and helping me out. I will continue to keep you updated on the little man!

| Glad to hear sammy is feeling better. You sound like you are a very good mommy, and are taking very good care of him. I heard the same about the pig ears. Mine eat the whole greenie and it comes out in chunks in their poo. They can only have one per week now. I give other healthy treats by Nutro, they don't love them, but they do eat them, they are small drumsticks.

| Thanks! I try to be the best mommy I can. That's what these little ones deserve . That's a good idea about the greenie. He's only had 1 so far so I'm probably going to limit them, but on the package it does say it helps with digestion especially with certain foods. Your babies are adorable! One day when Sam is healthy again and I have time, I have to post more pics of him up here. Thanks for responding!

| Hello, I give my Yorkie one pig ear every month. She started off from being able to finish one in a week to finishing one ear in an hour.. I have to take it away from her after she nibbles on it for 20 min. to regulate. I also noticed that Maxi poops more when she eats them, even though i heard that it takes days for them to digest. -Liz[COLOR=DarkSlateBlue] |

| Thanks everyone! Thanks Maximillion for giving me some info about the pig ears. He loves it so I guess I'll only let him have it when I'm around. Right now he's all snuggled in his crate sound asleep.

| Glad to hear he is feeling better. Bella was on Clavamox for about 4 weeks with her bad kennel cough. She still coughed for about 2-3 weeks after. Nosw finally last week was the first time with no coughing. Oh a reverse sneeze type cough here and there but nothing like before, so it did work for her!!

| That makes me feel more at ease knowing Bella's better being on the same medicine. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to help me out. This is only his second day on it and I'm sure I'm just being hopeful, but he has been coughing a lot less. Especially when he settles in to sleep. He would cough for a while before he could fall asleep, now it's like a little cough and he's out. He'll be on this for 2 wks and then see where we go from there. I'm so glad to hear Bella is not coughing anymore. I hate that reverse sneezing though. It scares me when Sam does it.
