| clogged pore? i noticed Chewy licking his paw alot, so of course i checked to see what was there and sure enough there was a ball under the skin. it looked like a clogged pore. i tried squeezing it, and dirt came out. its alot smaller now but it is irritated. should i take him to the vet? has anyone had this happen to their yorkie?

| I've never heard of this. I would probably call your vet and see if they've ever heard of it.

| My vet thought Jewels had clogged pores. He put her on anantibiotic. So I would call your vet also.

| There may be something in there that you cannot see and it could be infected? Until you see a vet , try bathing it in salt water, can't hurt, that's for sure. Hope it clears up quickly, Ana xx |

| I would try washing, soaking (maybe with a washrag). Wait a day to see if it begins to get better.

| UPDATE...clogged pore mystery solved! i took your advice and took chewy to the vet. it turns out that his first owners evidently declawed the bottom claw which is why i never noticed. anyway the vet said that the doctor who did this did not remove all what he/she was suppose to take out and left some of the bone there. needless to say, it took all this time but dirt, skin, and hair got in there and it filled up. the vet says this will be a reoccuring thing if it is not done properly. so he suggested that next time chewy gets his teeth cleaned, i should have the doc finish the job and remove the leftover bone. thanks again for the advice.
