| Advice needed soon!! This morning I woke up and couldn't find Gia. After calling and looking all over, I found her hiding under my bed. I thought maybe she was in labor since she was hiding?? But when I picked her up I smelled something and she had a big huge ball of stool stuck to her bottom. She is about to deliver and last night had some very loose stools and was wanting to go outside a lot, so I put a Pee pad down in the bedroom which she did use to pee on in the night but no stool. I filled the tub with some warm water and removed the stool the best I could and then I thought I would try to trim some of this hair. She is very silky and long. She was great when I was washing her, but she wasn't going to have anything to do with me trimming the hair. Should I take her into the vet and let them do it? I don't want her to deliver with that mess. Although it is clean now..there are some tiny knots and such. She hasn't wanted to be messed with for the last week and I feel to blame for this happening what should I do?? Please advise me.

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Will having the vet do it stress her out? How far along is she? I feel bad for you....hard to tell what will and what wont stress her out....I am assuming they are like us and when preg. do not need any added stress. I hope someone can give you better advice than mine I have never dealt with a preg yorkie before I know I had to keep trying and trying to clip Bellas butt hair she now is 2 and just stands there while I do it.

| she is due now and for sure I don't want her stressed. She has very fine silky hair. I called our groomer and she said not to bring her in but I am just worried about all hair causing problems when she delivers...

| I would try and cut the hair yourself as best you can in order to prevent her from stressing out too much. |

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Hmmm this sounds strange but could you put pig tails in her butt hair? lol May look funny but would hold butt hair to a part allowing for you fur babies to make a "clean" enterance?! That may also stress her out but maybe she does not get bothered by new hair styles, Bella could care less....lol Good luck and PLEASE keep us posted on her delivery. Has her temp dropped? Had she cleared her belly? Sounds like she is clearing her bowels....must be getting close! Is this your first littler???

| i would leave her be. you can always clean her up after the pups are born. also, the next time you breed, maybe you should not wait to trim her hair. i always trim at 45 days

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | I would just try slowly and take a tiny bit at a time. Stay close when she's sleeping and maybe try then. Could someone hold her in their arms for you while you sneak around under her so she can't see and try that way too? Wishing you a safe and healthy whelp! |

| No help for the booty hair, but I can't wait to hear more about the delivery. You must be so excited! Is this your first litter or are you an old hand?
