| Can I feed her puppy formula instead of dog? Lola has been fed Chicken Soup For The Puppy Lovers Soul for the past year or so. I wanted to switch her to the adult version but she doesn't seem to like it. The puppy bites are smaller and I guess to her taste better. Are any problems if I just continue to feed her the puppy version?

| My vet recommended switching Spike to adult food at 6 months. The ingredients of puppy food are diffferent, and are in in different proportions. I think there are more calories in puppy food, so as your dog gets older, if he/she continues on puppy food he may put on weight. Perhaps you might want to switch brands? Spike was on Nutrience puppy food, but I have switched him to Acana small breed adult. |

| It is perfectly fine to keep her on the puppy formula! If you look on the bag, it says that it is "formulated for all life stages." The only thing you have to watch out for is her putting on too much weight with the puppy forumla. If she does start to put on too much weight, just cut back on her portions of the food and supplement with salt-free canned green beans. I had my yorkies on Chicken Soup Puppy for the longest time with no problems. I say stick to the puppy. In fact, the ingredients are much better than the adult food anyway. |
