| What's wrong with my baby!?!? I dont know whats wrong with him. He's constantly scratching at his ears Ive checked him for fleas and bathed him with oatmeal shampoo and minksheen. There were no signs of fleas and right after the bath he was still itching! Today he was rubbing his head on the floor and doing this weird barking thing. Not an I'm in pain bark it's one of those under his breath barks. I dont know if it's ear mites, a yeast infection, an ear infection or what. I dont particularly like my vet. I havent had a bad experience but i havent heard that great of things. I mean the guy treated him like any dog. He never informed me of what liver shut was or hypoglycemia. You guys did. I need to take him to a different vet but then id need all his records and everything else. Does anyone have any clue whats wrong so i can do some reasearch and then take my baby to the vet???? Please any help is appreciated!!!!!

| Could be ear mites drives your poor baby crazy. Please have the vet check him out ASAP. I feel so bad for him. He seems very uncomfortable obviously with the winning and head rubbing. |

| I wanna take him to the vet but the vet is kind of an a** hole. He doesn't whine it' his usual playful "mr. im not getting my way" bark. I've checked his ears for gunk and i dont see any. I wont be able to get him to the vet until monday. I really want something that will help until i can get him there. Ive heard about using benadryll (sp.). but i dont know how to give it to him or how much or when or with what.

Im so irratated because she treats me like im an idiot going on and on about how her mom had two yorkies and she knows that im picky about food and shampoo because i want to spoil him and waste my money. She thinks that yorkies can eat any food and just be fine and that they will be healthy. She also thinks that any shampoo is ok for a yorkies fine delicate hair. Just because her mom owned two yorkies. (which i doubt because her mom loves dobermans). UGGGG If i wanna do it im gonna do it. If i wanna spoil him till completely rotten i will. It's none of her F****** business to try and tell me how to raise my baby and tell me that everything im doing is wrong. Sorry had to vent that's been bugging me for a long time.......

| Please find a new vet then! Eventually he will need to see someone so there is no better time to find one. It could be an ear infection and if it is they are very dangerous to both humans and animals. They are often dismissed because humans, especially children get them so often, but they are very, VERY dangerous!!!

My furkids Donating Member | First off I would definately call your vet or find a new one to bring him to. He must be very uncomfortable if theirs something going on with his ears. Do his ears smell? Is there a black dirt looking stuff in them? Lillie will scratch at her ears from time to time if I don't pluck the hairs out of her ears. Maybe one of those black flies got into his ear...Hope you find out what it is soon.

| I think it's ear mites. He doesn't act like he's in pain. He goes outside and plays with the kittens runs around and tears up paper in the house. then lays down to take a nap. It's not non stop scratching but when he does stop to stratch it's not scratch "ok i feel better" its scratch scratch etc. for atleast a minute or two. I found a new vet but im nervous. I have to leave for work now. so he'll be with my boyfriend. I know it's bothering him but there are absolutley no animal hospitals around here just clinics. I feel like such a bad mommy..

| Sounds like an ear infection to me.... Don't let it go too long. If it's the inner ear, it can cause balance problems if not taken care of soon! Pixie is really prone to ear infections and that's exactly how she acts. She still runs and plays like nothing's wrong, but when I see her scratching or rubbing her ear on the floor, I get her to the vet. Hope she's OK. Be really careful when bathing her. You might want to put cotton balls in her ears to keep water out. Water in the ears can cause an ear infection quick.

| Since he is doing a weird bark or even a whine associated with the ears, then he's in some kind of pain or severe itching and needs to be seen by a Vet. Even if the Vet. seems rude, just determine if he's a good Vet. otherwise before finding a different one. |

| My little girl scratches her ears, and I got a bit worried, but the Vet examined her ears, and there is nothing wrong with them. BUT, since your little baby barks while doing it, then it is definitely bothering/hurting him, so i suggest you take him to the Vet asap to solve the problem!! I hate to see them in discomfort! |

| He's not really barking while scratching them. He was laying on the floor doing the weird bark at the table leg. I dont think his barking was related to his ears. He's just weird like that. but at the time it freaked me out. His ears dont seem to bother him as much today. He's goin to the vet monday so i will know soon.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I agree with this - if he's scratching that bad you need to bring him in. |
