| How much should a full grown Yorkie eat a day? I have been feeding my 3 babies, people food the last few weeks after the dog food scare. Plus, they were so picky with dog food, half the time I put it in their bowl in the morning and it just sat there all day. Ive been feeding them either ground chicken, turkey or beef, mixed with rice, a little cheese sometimes. I feel them in the morning, but it seems like they should have more than that. I always leave some dry food out, but hey hardly ever touch it, so I feel Im wasting my money. Is a cup a day right, or would a cup twice a day be more like what they need. Thanks so much Laura |

| When Gracie was on a bland diet, only people food, my vet said to give the same volume as I normally do with canned and/or dry.

| Hi, I have 4 furbabies (2 Yorkies and 2 Malteses). They used to NOT touch their kibbles (Canidae). I home cooked for them and mixed their food with Missing Link. They eat the home cooked food in the morning and they do eat kibbles at night. I don't leave dry food all day. They have their set eating schedules. Although I know they liked the home cooked food better than the kibbles because they gobble them up so fast. They don't have a choice but to eat kibbles at night when they get hungry, because they know that is all they're going to get. I cheat sometimes though, when my 2 year old yorkie do not eat at night (She is very picky). I sneaked her in the kitchen and feed her the homecook meals but that happen once in a blue moon only. |

| Sorry, I did'nt answer your question on my first post. On every bag of kibbles, there is a part there that says the recommended serving depending on their weight |

| When Ellie was eating kibble she would eat about 1/2 cup per day (she is just over 5 pounds). Now that she eats people food she eats more and has stayed about the same weight. She gets 1/4 cup in the morning, 1/4 cup at night and 1/8-1/4 cup in the afternoon of a meat with a couple cooked veggies and some carbs. She also gets raw veggies and fruit and sometimes some cottage cheese or yogurt. We wouldn't feed her so much except that she is very hyper.
