| Change in personality after neutering ??? Hi to all YorkieTalkers! My Comet is 6 months old today! He is very loving, energetic and playful. I will be getting him neutered within the next several weeks. Other than the known behavioral changes to expect such as marking their territory and leg lifting can you guys tell me some of your own experiences with your male yorkies once they've been neutered? | Mine is 5 months and I'm sure I'm replying too soon since he just had surgery 6 days ago but so far, I see NOTHING. Only took him that night to get over it and was same old self the next morning...I heard it makes them more loveable but I don't know how that's possible!

| Thanks alot Toniad! That's good to know. Especially the part of your post that says..."it only makes them more loveable". I've heard people say that dogs may become overweight and lethargic once neutered and that they have an increase in appetite. Please keep me posted as the weeks go by on your yorkie after neutering! |

| Tino was neutered in December he was 7 months. I had heard all of the warnings too about him possibly being lazy and lethargic and that he would get fat. I can say for certain that absolutley NONE of these things happend! And you are right! I didnt believe it could be possible for him to become MORE affectionate, but he has. He just wants to be with mommy at all times! I have been very pleased... Tino never lifted his leg or marked before the surgery and hasnt since either. The only change is that he humps his duckie only about once a week instead of every single night! I kinda miss it though it was pretty cute..... Take a look!

| Those pics are so funny! Romeo was still squatting and still is...he had not humped anything yet and hasn't started (thank god) and I noticed yesterday that his appetite seemed to have increased so I will have to keep an eye on that. He sleeps a lot but not anymore than before...he still plays good too..so far I am happy with what I did....those wimpers of pain that night almost KILLED me though!

| Bailey was fixed 6 months ago,, he will be 1 on saturday!! Anyhow, I have noticed NOTHING,,, like they say will happen! The only change I have noticed is he is NOT as interested in my neighbors Female Yorkie... " Bianca" as he was before,,, he's kinda take her or leave her! Where as before, he would beeline over to see her!

| Rudy is 1 year and 7 months old now, he was neutered around 7 months and he is the same little yorkie terrorist. He did stop trying to hump everything. I think is he is glad now he is neutered with his new little sister always biting at his back legs.

| No change at first but after a couple of months when the hormones settle down all my males have cut out the constant humping and generally calmed down a little (not a lot). |
