| I agree, it's scary! So far the food I use has not been recalled. It doesnt contain rice or wheat, so hopefully we're safe...but I check the updated list and the manufacturer's website repeatedly just to be safe.

| Oh my goodness. I just saw this thread. I'm glad I started cooking for Rosie because the food I was feeding her is on the list now. The only thing I'm worried about is if her food is giving her enough nutrients. |

| Try Life's Abundance, it doesn't contain wheat or rice protein concentrate. It is shipped direct to you and it is fresh. |

| The news I am reading lately is more about the same melamine entering the human food chain -- pork and chickens were fed feed which had some of the tainted ingredients. What is worse, no one is sure just how long all of this has been going on! I read a CNN report that there were over 4,000 pet deaths attributed to this. But if it was a long term practice, there may be a LOT more than that, just not previously connected to food. It also said prior to using the melamine to purposely elevate the protein count, they were using urea! (Urea is a nitrogen-containing substance normally cleared from the blood by the kidney into the urine. This is what they test when you see BUN listed on lab tests.) I think this current halt to import from China needs to be made more permanent until they allow FDA inspections and clean up their act!
