| If she has dry skin you want to use an oatmeal shampoo. I am pretty certain Petsilk has one. You might also want to give a suppliment like missing link

| Use a very mild shampoo and even dilute it. Then a hot oil treatment after each bath. Next use Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids in the food each day. Good luck with your baby. |

| My vet told me I could give Gracie 1/2 of a fish oil capsule once a day, the same one that I routinely take. It smells, but once a day is not so bad. She does not seem to mind it. I just pierce one end and squirt have the gel over her food, then keep the rest for the next day. Also, I quit bathing Gracie every week. She now has a bath once every 2-3 weeks and her skin is much better.

| At the health food store or anywhere that they have vitamins/supplements, you can find Fish Oil and it has omega 3 fatty acids Or, you can buy the Missing Link supplement and it has the right balance of omega-3 essential fatty acids and omega-6 essential fatty acids.

| My little one has flakey skin also, always scratching himself. The vet looked at it and prescribed fish oil capsules. I mix one capsule with food daily. The vet sent me home with a bottle, but you also can get it at the pet store. It's just been a week since he started on it, so I don't know if it's working yet.

| I use regular moisturizing puppy shampoo & specialty oatmeal protein conditioner on Chloe. She still has a ton of flakes. I REALLY want to try MinkSheen...I'll be getting some when her shampoo is almost out.

| When I had the dry coat/dry skin problem with Chattie I started correcting the problem from the inside out. It took a while to find the right combination (about a year) but for us Canidae All Life Stages dry kibble sprinkled with Missing Link and about 3 drops of pure emu oil daily has turned her coat around. I shampoo with MinkSheen -- it is a GREAT product. Other great shampoos that worked for me are Coat Handlers and the Cranberry Fields Shampoo and Conditioner that Kathryn_V sells (www.beyondspoiled.com) When starting a new program, be sure to give it a chance. It might take several weeks/months to see a real difference. |
