| For those of you with non-spayed females.... What age were they when they went into their first heat? I am trying to geuss around how much time I may have before I have to get Willow spayed, she is still under 2 lbs at 5 months, it freaks me out. I'd like to wait as long as possible (for safety and teeth purposes), but do not want her to go into heat. My vet says she will have her first heat at 6 months, but I know there can be a range depending on the dog. Just want to hear some of your experiences...... Thanks in advance! |

| Sissy was spayed at 7 months and no sign of heat yet. With these little ones, it is rare that they will have a heat before a year.....

| Both of my girls are not yet spayed. I just wanted to do both (10mos old)toguether but Tiffy is barely 2 pounds at almost 10 months so I was hoping she gains some for safety... Neither has had their first heat yet.

| they can go into heat from 6 months to 14 months. size doesn't play apart of it. you just have to be patient and wait.
