| How long you had your puppy?? My baby had diarrhea in the beginning without any apparent reason. I changed diet to more mild/bland food like boiled chicken and rice since my baby is picky eater as well. Now she is almost 8 month and I have no problem!!! And I am feeding her the same dog food, Royal Canine 33!!! |

| Why not try boiled chicken and rice for a few days to see if his stools harden up. Its probaby not the royal canin food, and most likely just a tummy thing, my girls get loose stools once in a while also and I have no idea why.. |

| I would take her off of the puppy food if it were me. You cannot feed a puppy just home cooked food for any length of time safely, but it wouldnt hurt til you can get to the vet. I would go with the chicken or very lean hamburger and rice or oatmeal til then. |

| I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you need to check into this: April 19, 2007. ROYAL CANIN today recalled seven canine dry dog foods and one dry cat food due to the presence of a melamine derivative in rice protein concentrate ingredient of these formulas. The recalled Royal Canin foods are: * Royal Canin Chicken Meal & Rice Formula Senior Dog Food * Royal Canin Lamb Meal & Rice Formula Puppy Dog Food * Royal Canin Lamb Meal & Rice Formula Adult Dog Food * Royal Canin Lamb Meal & Rice Formula Senior Dog Food * Royal Canin Rice & Catfish Meal Formula Adult Dog Food * Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine Early Cardiac EC 22 Dog Food * Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine Canine Skin Support SS21 Dog Food * Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Feline Hypoallergenic HP23 Cat Food Royal Canin USA urges pet owners using the dry pet food products listed above to immediately stop feeding their pets the foods and to consult with a veterinarian if they have any immediate concerns about the health of their pet. Royal Canin has pledged to no longer use any Chinese suppliers for any of its vegetable proteins. No other Royal Canin pet foods are affected by the recall, according to the company. Additional information on the Royal Canin recall is available from the Royal Canin USA website. |

Royal Canin Puppy 33 is not on the recall list.....I feed this too, but it's better to err on the side of caution.

| Amber my Sassy got the runs real bad and she had never had but puppy food either so i took her to the vet's and she had a parasite that she pick up out side in the grass. The vet said that if you have any wild animals in your yard bunnies, birds anything there is always a danger of getting a parasite so he gave her medicine and she was fine in a day and has been fine since. |

| Have you always feed this brand/type? When we switched too soon the same thing happened.

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | Boo is 11 months old. i am looking into other vets my mom wants to wait and see if he has it the rest of the night. Daisy had Giardia a while ago but she has been clear from it and they aren't ever really around eachother Peeka doesn't have the runs and i would think if any of them got it it would be him. She doesn't take him anywhere so i don't know?

I'm very curious as to whether it is related to the food, because at this rate of recalls it might just be! Please let me know the progressing condition of your baby.. | |
