| Pet Food May Have Been Spiked Intentionally! I just found this! FDA thinks the wheat gluten and the rice protien may have had melamine added intentionally! Just to "make a product appear more protein-rich than it really is". It also says reports from South Africa says it may have been added to corn gluten. I'm seriously thinking of switching to home cooked meals. I have no idea what to feed my girls! Here's the link to the story in the Washington Times. http://washingtontimes.com/business/...5909-1641r.htm

| I dont know if you guys have a product called Advance over there....it is a super premium food made in Australia...we have not had ANY problems with our pet food production. Its a pretty good food....but make sure you get the Chicken one rather than the Turkey and rice one...the turkey and rice one is rubbish! |

| If they find out this melamine was added intentionally to cheat for the almighty dollar.....well I hope those responsible are all jailed and fed nothing but tainted dog food and water! Grrrrr.......

I switched mine to "Verve" from the honest kitchen.......I really think it's great food and closer to homecooked that I can get. Like the majority of you, I go to school full-time, work etc.... This is very simple and you can cook it too if you'd like. Even my husband can cook this I cook a batch of free-range meat to last a few days and then freeze it. I add a little bit to the mix and they tear it up that way

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Homecookin' is time-consuming and a pain ... but at least you know what they're eating! I can't wait 'til the next time one of the vet techs or alternate vets (our regular vet knows about Oz's homecooked diet and has endorsed it all along) starts the "So what does he eat?" stuff. They just tell you how they don't get all the vitamins and minerals that way. They also don't get POISONED, thank you very much. Our vet on the other hand offered us things to include and supplements to get -- and this was years and years before all the recalls. |

| I wrote this gentleman about a PM I got about the Verve dog food, and this is the response: You asked: "The company that makes Verve dog food say that their dog food has been FDA approved. Do you know anything about that?" As Roger Hoestenbach, (in response to a question about pet food advertisements and labeling) stated when he was President of AAFCO, ". . . the large manufacturers are protected by the Constitutionally guaranteed right of speech, which doesn't require that speech to be truthful or with reason." You asked: "Is there a list of dog foods that are FDA approved to your knowledge?" The FDA does not have a list of dog foods they have approved. You asked: "How can anything be all natural or holistic if it contains all those preservatives and chemicals?" It can not be. Yours truly, William D.
