| How much should I be feeding Chloe? I'm having trouble figuring out how much to feed Chloe. She's almost 6 months old and is barely over 2lbs. She's so tiny. Skinny, but not super skinny...skinny enough that Mommy's a little worried, though. I've been feeding her Royal Canin & Eukanuba dry mixed together (breeder had her on Eukanuba & I'm switching her slowly) and Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's Soul wet. The can of Chicken Soup... can says that she should be eating 1 - 1 1/2 cans!!! Those cans are HUGE! Her dry food bag says that she should be eating like 2 cups of dry food per day. Now, I know that the food companies will obviously inflate the amount to sell more, but come on! That's a freakin lot of food for a 2lb puppy! When I first got her I tried to get her on a eating schedule, but she wouldn't eat when I gave her the food. So, I started leaving the dry food out all the time so that she could pick at it a little bit whenever she wanted. She hardly touches it at all, though. She might eat about 1/8 cup max all day. Then, I found Chicken Soup... so I started giving her about a Tbsp of that at dinner time and she loves it. So, I tried to give her 2 Tbsp, but she won't eat more than half (about 1 Tbsp). Now that I'm getting a little worried about her size, I have started trying to give her a Tbsp in the AM and a Tbsp at dinner time. Sometimes she'll eat in the morning, but most of the time she just eats at dinnertime. Basically, she's getting about 1/4 food MAX per day (and that's only on a GREAT day). Should I be forcing her to eat more? Or, should I add some sugar/syrup to her water? I don't want her to get fat, but I do want her to bulk up a little bit. The vet says she's healthy as she is, but Mommy's a worrier since she's so little Sorry this is so long...just looking for some help. Thanks in advance

| Mine does not eat that much either. She is 9 months and 5 lbs. She eats about 1/3 cup a day (split in to two). Sometimes I add cottage cheese or wet food on top of that. If I try to feed her more she becomes finicky eater and will stop eating the whoe day or two. |

| Ok, good! I was worried that Miss. Priss wasn't getting enough nutrients. I'll try adding some cottage cheese/yogurt to see if she likes that more

| Hi~ My Charlie and Henry are 4lb 12oz and 5lb 2oz and athe vet said not more than 1/4 c each 2x's per day or I will have a porkie yorkie, and keep the amount the same when switching from puppy to dog food at 10month (they are 6months) and if I am going to add anything special keep it at 1 tsp to just one of the feedings...I do that to both the feedings because they like it and it is usually cooked ground turkey with celery or carrots cooked in or peas...They love veggies...so I figure it is not anything fattening... |

| I have a very fussy little girl puppy but I discovered tonight that she LOVES sardines....wolfed them down like she hadnt eaten in days! thank goodness.....I was so worried about her being too skinny the other night that I was feeding her with a spoon, scooping up bits of food and coaxing her to eat...must've looked so ridiculous! |

| Ok, just looked it up. The kind she's been eating wasn't recalled, but we'll be stopping that immediately anyways. Better safe than sorry! Royal Canin USA did the recall & Royal Canin Canada (where I am) decided to recall the same products just in case according to the Royal Canin website. Nothing is safe anymore I don't have the time to make her food homemade. Wish I did... Thanks for letting me know!
