| Several YTers recommend canned pumpkin (not the pie filling) for constipation and/or diarrhea. I haven't had to use it yet but might be worth a try

| Canned pumpkin has been recommended by several members. Also, the warm bath might help your furbaby. Is it partially coming out?? It might be getting caught in the hair around that area. Make sure and keep it trimmed. Definitely try the bath to help ease it out...

| You might also give an over the counter stool softner like Surfak wrapped in a treat for 4-5 days until things get regular. Bogus has to have one every day and has for the last month. He got so constipated and tried to pass a huge BM that his rectum started prolapsing...So after a trip to the Vet. this is what he told us to do and it softened up overnight. He had trouble with constipation for about 4-5 days and I just thought it would straighten out. He doesn't drink enough water. So we may have to do this from now on...Oh well, at least there are human things that they too can tolerate

| Oh gosh, I'm sorry I didn't read that you had a puppy??? How old is he and how much does he weigh??? I wouldn't give the stool softner if he's under 6 months of age...

| He got a hold of white masking tape last night...he didn't get to eat too much before I figured out what he was hiding from me. What he is keen on doing is finding things that he knows he can't have and hiding them under the bed in the bedroom. When he figures out that I am consumed in homework, he pulls the things out from under the bed and plays with them right next to me. Sometimes it takes me a few minutes to figure out what he is doing. NOw I know that if he is quiet that it means trouble. |

| It would be safe to give the softner. Bogus would get to when he needed to have a BM, he would go hide and yelp...when I would go to him and pick him up, he would have a part of the BM stuck in his tail coat and the other part still inside and he would cry and try and bite me he was in such pain...it was a disaster for 3 days!!! We did the warm baths too, with a sprayer on his little bottom..sorry to be graphic, but it was a loooong 3 days...when the stool softner finally worked it was like a miracle, he didn't strain or cry, he would pass it with no problems. It was the simplest thing to do for us to solve a quite complex problem Good luck! Please let us know how things work out..

| Thought Pumpkin was for Loose stools?? May want to check up on this? Try baby food fruit. You can add olive oil to the baby food? Just small amount. Try warm puppy formula?? Good luck. |
