| How often should you give Nutrical? Hi I just got Emmie on Wednesday. At first she wasn't eating, but her breeder said she really wasn't fond of the food she was giving her. It was a/d medicated from the vet. She was on it because she had kennel cough. Before she got sick she was eating dry food, but once she was on the medicated food she only wants the canned food. Her breeder said once she got well she stopped liking the a/d and wanted other wet food. She said she likes Canidae wet food, so I went out and bought some. Her breeder told me to make sure she eats every four hours. Is this too often? She will be 14 weeks tomorrow and weighs 1lb 9 ounces. Also if she does eat every four hours how often should I be giving her Nutrical? Should I give it to her a certain amount of times everday while she is a puppy? And how much should I give her? Should I give it to her in between meals? Or if she eats normal do I need to give it to her? The breeder told me to give her a tablespoon of the wet food every four hours is this enough for her. How much do you feed your yorkies as puppies? I just don't want to be giving her too much Nutrical or more than is needed. Sorry for all the questions or if this sound confusing. Thanks so much for your help? Also I have caught her eating her poop a couple of times. I have read about it on here, but does anyone know how long this usually lasts?

| When we first got Bella I gave her some in the morning and at night for about 1 month. The vet also gives her some while she is getting her shots. The vet told me, she really can't get too much and when she was younger I could use it as a treat once in a while while she was training. The vet said she will eventually not like it as she gets older.

| I would put an inch on my index finger and let Cordelia lick it off. I gave it to her once a day. In my opinion I would give her more food than that. If it was me I would free feed, which means leave the food out for her and let her eat when she is hungry. I was told by my vet to give Cordelia 1/4 cup of kibble 3 times a day.

| I'll give Violeta 1cc depending on how she ate on the day. If she had her three meals I wont give her any, but sometimes she gets picky and wont eat one of her meals then I give her the nutrical and I also stick my little finger in honey and have her lick it. Honey I use it a lot when she gets extremely exited, right after she is playing too much I'll give her some honey. I dont think its bad to give your pup nutrical in a small amount everyday. |

| When Oreo had his brush with death due to Hypoglycemia and my knowledge deficit. I then use to give it to him every morning & night, everyday only a small amount though. a little bit longer than my fingernail width, to the first line on my finger (if that makes sense).. i give it to Oreo and Ginger every once in a while, but they don't need it as much as before. With my little Cloey being so tiny. I give it to her a lot because she's such a picky eater, i know she won't starve herself, but she wont eat if she doesn't want to. |

| Some times it is normal for them not to eat when they go to a new home. There scared and streesed. But I tell my new owners to give it to them if they dont eat. Also tell them if they are use to being put in a taxi all day while your at work then come out and play real hard there batteriesrun down. And ned alittle boost. When there tiny they tend to run down quicker. I would give her 1cc and if she seems drunk or kind of out there Id give her 3cc. My bigger ones like it to. My mommys get it while there having the babies as a boost. And when I give it to my babies sometimes moms right there to clean it all up. Nutracal is the best stuff to have on hand. |

| I free feed Chewy all the kibble he wants until about 9 PM then I take the food up. Soft food can upset their little tummies, I would suggest hard kibble. CHewy is 3 and half months and I give him a taste of nutrical in the morning, right before bed and anytime I take him out of the house in his carrier I make sure to bring it with me and I'll give him a lick if he seems to be stressed. He loves it. I always thought yorkies were little lap dogs that don't run much, but I have learned these little buggers LOVE to run and play and they expend a lot of energy. The nutrical helps after they play hard. |

| I gave just a squirt of it three times a day when my pups were real young. Once they were eating well though I quit giving it.

Maggie will be 14 weeks old Saturday. She's a little fatty at 3.5 pounds. She also went on a no eating strike when I got her. The breeder told me to feed her 1 TBLS. of food per body weight 4 times a day. Also, to leave dry food out all the time. She got her Nutristat (similar to Nutrical) mid morning, if she ate her breakfast or right away if she didn't. I also gave it to her before bedtime. The breeder told us not to let her go longer than 8 hours without eating. I'm in the process of totally getting her off wet food now. I mix dry food with the wet. Each day I mix less wet. It true, you can over do the Nutrical. It's like a high calorie candy to them and can ruin their appetite. Normally about an inch is enough. If your baby is still not wanting to eat, you might try a scrambled egg mixed with some crunched up dry food. That and boiled chicken mixed with dry kibbles always worked for Maggie. About the poop. Scoop or dispose of the poop right away. If you can't do that, then pour vinegar on it, or spray it with "NO". She should stop the habit quickly. Good Luck. Holler anytime.
