| never ending food questions... Well as you know, since all the recalls, I've been changing food here and cooking for the babies. Like another post though...I am finding that the girls are totally spoiled for the chicken I cook! They will also go nuts for the free canned Evangers food we got (well most of it - NOT the vegetarian!). I am finding them both turning their noses up at dry food now! I really didn't want to take dry totally away from them (feeding them Merricks right now). They loved it when I first put it down, and even liked it with the gravy. I can't even "hide" it in the chicken mix or canned food...they pick it all out! Is this really good for them to be so darned picky now? Vixxen is gettin to be a little porker eating so much of the chicken when I put it down! She USED to weigh 4.5 lbs and now tips a bit over 5 I just don't know what is best anymore....I'm gonna throw in the towel

| http://www.drharveys.com/dogs/caninehealth.asp Maybe you could try this...It's not kibble, but you add your own meat to it, and it's a well-balanced meal.

| When I brought Gordon home from the breeder, the breeder had him on Nutro. I kept him on it. About a week before the recall.....he started getting picky and not eating the Nutro kibbles. Most of the vets around here only carry Science Diet.....it is what Gordon's vet suggested I change him to slowly. The only pet store I knew about around here is Petsmart....Gordon goes to puppy classes there. I have searched on the internet and read sites about foods.....I was getting dizzy from reading. I was so worried about Gordon's not eating and trying to find him a good food. Saturday was Gordon's puppy class at Petsmart. It is in another town about a 30 minute drive from my home. I am not farmilar with the area.....and I made a wrong turn when I left Petsmart. It was a lucky wrong turn.....because not two blocks from Petsmart was a sign with ad for Good Dog Naturally pet store. I pulled in and walked in and the store was great, but it smelled like home cooking. There were two very nice ladies working there.....one was a animal nutrist.......and they make their own dog food there. It is all homemade. She told me that Gordon needed a variety of foods.....she said, dogs get bored with food the same as we would if he ate the same thing everyday. She said, it is not good to keep switching foods....but anytime, we can add something with their kibbles it is good. I have a appointment with her Friday afternoon, she is going to set Gordon up on a feeding program......she is going to talk to his vet first. He just went to the vet for his last shots....and his vet said he was healthy. While I was there I got to tour their kitchen......it was spotless, and they were making doggie biscuits and it smelled great. It is a small business, they don't even have a web site.....but their store carried nothing but the top brand of dog foods and theirs....the store was spotless.

| That's a great wrong turn! Let us know how it works out for you. Homemade diets are so much better for our babies. I'm thinking of doing that or maybe The Honest Kitchen or Dr. Harvey's...Not sure yet.

I haven't tried it yet, but this was posted in another thread awhile back by another YT member. I think her baby is doing well on it! Also there is another one you might want to check out... www.thehonestkitchen.com This food is dehydrated raw food (dehydrated at temps of 120 degrees). They have foods with meat in them already or they have a food called Preference that you can add your own meat. Again, it can be raw or cooked. This is a food that is made in human food facilities and FDA approved. I'm still trying to decide which one I want Emma to try....Dr. Harvey's or The Honest Kitchen
