| What human foods are good and put on weight? My girl is way too thin. Her spine stick out and I can easily feel her ribs (ironically my boy is chunky). I am in the process of changing from chicken soup puppy to canidae as I was wanting my male to lose a little bit and I figured puppy food has more calories. (Turns out canidae has more cals than chicken soup puppy). But anyway, she will hardly touch it and I want to know what people foods I can feed her to put some weight on? I am pretty much a vegetarian myself and I do not cook much, so keep that in mind (no boiling chicken, etc.). Does anybody have suggestions on foods I can healthily give her and that are simple require little to no prep. Thanks!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | If you can feel her spine and ribs THAT much - I'd get her to a vet IMMEDIATELY. She may be ill, not just underweight. Yorkies cannot afford to lose much weight. I am a vegetarian as well, however, I would never force my beliefs on any creature, whether they were healthy or not. If your baby needs boiled chicken to put on weight, then please consider it. You can also feed some yogurt and cottage cheese - good sources of protein and good for her digestive system. IMHO, put your dog's weight gain before your philosophical beliefs. It sounds like she may be in danger and I wouldn't fool around with that. Best of luck, Ann |

| Oh, please don't misunderstand. I do not put my "beliefs" before my dogs health. I am not a vegetarian because of a belief, I just do not like meat. Also, quite frankly, I just do not know how to cook. I am willing to learn and apparantly I will have to look into that for her. We do have an upcoming vet appt. in the next couple of days. Thank you!
