Recall I heard a lead-in on the news this morning, abc news to be more specific, that this food recall is about to become more widespread and more dangerous. Unfortunately I had to rush off to work so I didn't get to see the actual story, now i'm concerned, I just always felt like more was coming, and it just didn't seem right to me. If I hear anything else, which I am looking into now or if anyone else hears anything please keep us all updated!! Good Luck everyone!!

| Pet Food Recall Widened Tainted pet food recall widened TORONTO -- A pet food recall has been expanded to include all varieties of its wet dog and cat food, amid concerns that tainted products are still being sold. The Mississauga, Ont. based Menu Foods is asking retailers to remove all wet food items as a safety precaution, regardless of the date code. In a weekend release, Menu Foods said that even brands not on the official recall list should be taken off the shelves. There is no known risk from items not listed on the recall list, but there is concern that consumers may still buy recalled products. The safety precaution comes days after it was discovered that some of the pet food products Menu Foods makes were tainted with rat poison. Several dogs and cats fell ill or died of kidney failure across North America. Menu Foods says it will compensate pet owners for any vet bills caused by the tainted food. http://winnipegsun.com/News/Canada/2...35816-sun.html Last edited by Ceibasmom; 03-27-2007 at 04:33 AM. | No Expanded Recall Clarification From Menu Foods: No Expanded Recall TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - March 26, 2007) - Media outlets have reported conflicting and incorrect information, including that Menu Foods has expanded its recall to include all products produced. To clarify, late last week, the US Food and Drug Administration (the "FDA") and various media outlets reported that some retailers still had recalled product on their shelves. In response, Menu Foods issued instructions for retailers to remove from their shelves all cuts and gravy products of the flavours listed on the recall list, regardless of the dates produced. For many retailers, this had already been completed as their standard operating procedure. This step did not expand the recall but provided the remaining retailers with an efficient means of withdrawing the recalled product. The full recall list is available at www.menufoods.com. In addition, Menu Foods reiterated that there is no evidence of any problems in any products manufactured at either its Streetsville, Ontario, facility or its North Sioux City, South Dakota, facility. Furthermore, there is no evidence of problems in any of the products not on the recall list produced at Emporia, Kansas, or Pennsauken, New Jersey. http://www.menufoods.com/recall/PRES...SE03262007.htm Geez! It's getting so hard to keep up with all of this! (Would have deleted my post above, but couldn't!) |

Thank you, it's all good information, even if some of it is incorrect. It just goes to show you that these companies can't be trusted and that no one really knows what's going on so it's best to be cautious.

No...this is horrible. http://www.azcentral.com/offbeat/art...oman26-ON.html Woman & dog sick after eating the recalled dog food. She noticed her dog not eating, but didn't know about the recall yet. So, she ate some of the food in an effort to show her dog it was okay. Well...now...they're both sick. Sad...

Ok I know this is gonna sound weird for me sticking up for some food companies but that info just said menu foods wanted everyones food off the shelf to even the ones not in the recall thats kinda mean and unfair. The other food companies arent in the recall and i think menu foods is just trying to get rid of the competition and make it seem like they were not the only brand in the recall so they wont lose so many customers and money. If i were the other food companies id be mad.
