| Bestro's Chicken Sticks I am in big trouble with my pups. I have been giving them Bestro's (I hope I am remembering right on the brand) Chicken Sticks. These are not the Jerky Tenders but a round treat that is soft. I would break off small pieces for "good girls" and "good boys." Our Walmart changed around their pet area and now there is no place for them. I found some at a neighboring town's Walmart once but now they too are out of them. I asked what was happening with them and they said they can't order them. They had just been shipped by the company. I have googled online and cannot find them. My bunch LOVED these treats and are whining at the cabinet where they used to be kept. They will eat some other things but they are not giving up on the Chicken Sticks and they were such a great treat. I have to find them again. I haven't even been able to find a Bestro's site. Any help out there? Ideas appreciated!

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | OH MY GOD - my two loooooooooooooooove these!!!! They are their #1 FAVORITE TREATS OF ALL TIME! Stedman will do backflips for these things, LOL! Stedman is a SUPER DUPER picky eater and I have spent an ungodly amount of money on trying different treats for him lol...these are BY FAR his #1 favs! If they ever stop making them, I am going to be sooo doomed lol. Thankfully, I just bought a HUGE package of these as we had run out Here is some information for ya According to Bestro, there was a misunderstanding with Walmart, regarding a "defect" in the product. Walmart pulled it as a recall and has been holding it. (Makes sense since the pet dept. manager at some Walmart didn't have a clue what the problem was and still had them in the office waiting for further instructions. Bestro contacted Walmart and they claim it will be back on the shelves shortly. They also claim that they pose no health threat to our dogs. Bestro is also checking out the FDA site so that they can get it straightened out.

| Thanks for that update -- I hope they do have them soon. I can't believe these 4 of mine have gotten so attached to their Chicken Sticks. They know that is what they are suppose to get when they go potty outside and they just look at me like I am deranged when I try to pawn off something else. They do like Yorkie Yummies and will eat them any other time but for some reason they really think an outside potty merits the Chicken Stick or nothing! If anyone knows how to contact Bestro or has an alternative supplier, I would gladly order online or by phone.

| Do you have a link to what you are talking about? I just did a search at their site and see no Bestro products listed. Then I went page by page through all the treats they had listed and still nothing on Bestro Chicken Sticks.

| Those comments were made by people in Feb 06 and concerned the Chicken Jerky Strips not the Chicken Sticks. According to information I am reading online and a notice from Bestro the Chicken Jerky Strips were recalled in error due to a misunderstanding. Product was labeled that it had been irradiated to kill bacteria which is not sufficient for avian flu/salmonella but the product is also subjected to extreme heat for 10 hours and microwaved so it was found to be safe. It was not that they found any salmonella or avian flu in the product -- it was a product information issue. What is not good about it? It is just chicken.

| Bestro's website - maybe this helps? Hi, new to the forum. I don't have a Yorkie, but what we like to call a "Sporkie" (Spitz/Yorkie with a nod to Taco Bell). I hope that doesn't get me kicked outta here - I didn't read the fine print in the "terms and conditions," and you all might be a bunch of highfalutin purists. I Google'd and found you guys and followed your thread. I've had the same problem locating these treats, BUT my mother-in-law (who watches the "baby") had a bag we'd sent over a few months ago. I retrieved it today and the website on the back of the bag is "www.dogchews.com." I didn't read through all of the posts to see if this had been brought up before, but this company is in China. For what it's worth, the only ingredients listed on the back of this bag are chicken breast and rice flour. I'm thinking perhaps the location of this supplier is the issue. Maybe there's more in these chewies than we're being told. I was on the hunt for them, too, because my dog loves them, as well. But with further digging I think I might try to locate something from a country with a slightly better record when it comes to things my girlie ingests. Glad I found you guys - I'll be a regular! |

| Ah, so THAT's what happened! Although I received absolutely no response from anyone concerning my post, I'll go ahead and update this thread because I like to wrap things up nice and tidy. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20367400/ |
