| It is to prevent low blood sugar. Karo syrup is essentially high fructose corn syrup. When puppies are less than 2-3 lbs. their bodies cannot store sugar properly. In order to avoid problems some add Karo to their water, some people just give a little Karo when the puppy has not eaten and seems lethargic.
