| Mom feed my yorkie some chicken... hey there, i'm new here. I just gotten my first puppy last week. his name is chopstix and he's 3 months old. My mother feed him a piece of chicken this morning, i told her not to and she still feed it to him in front of my face! Well, he pooped this morning, and he hasnt yet poop since that. usually, he poops 2 - 3 times a day. can someone reassure me that he'll be fine?? |

| I think he'll be fine. Because of the chicken "treat" he may not have eaten as much other food today as he usually does -- thus less poop! If he's not throwing up or having loose stools, he's probably just fine. Just be careful when feeding him meat that it is not too highly seasoned, it could upset his stomach. Ususally plain boiled chicken breast is good. Also, limit these kinds of treats so you can be sure to maintain a healthy weight for your little guy. (Sounds like you need to establish who the real "mommy" is -- grandmom may spoil him! ). My pup loves "healthy" treats like carrots, apples and other fruits -- maybe try him on some of those. Good luck with your new pup!

Yorkie Yakker | chicken, eh? My yorkster is raw fed, chicken mainly. She's 9-months old and is fed mornings only; this is because she has at least 4 BMs/day. I thought she'd slow down on her BMs but she doesn't....she's fed a hefty piece for a yorkie. The interesting thing about raw feeding is their BMs disintergrate within 24 hours and it hardly smells. Perhaps that's a bit more information than needed, eh? |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Chicken is a staple food in Ozzie's diet. Now that I think about it, he eats better than I do! We boil it though and it's all white meat. Someone mentioned spice -- as long as it isn't like part of a "spicy hot wing" or something like that, I think your baby will be OK. |

| my boys love chicken! Just make sure it boiled white meat and no seasoning on it .Yes,My Husbands says all the time "they eat better then him".Your Baby will be OK. Dont feed him Rawhide or he will be sick with a upset Tummy. You can give him Bully sticks or Steer sticks.Try to stay with the dry dog food.No table food! You start giving him Table food he wont eat whats good for him.I had to yell at my husband all the time when they were little puppies.

| We have made is VERY clear to everyone who comes to our house or that we visit that Tia is to have NO TABLE SCRAPS. We're actually doing everything we can not to further encourage her existing LP (and our vet said that she must NOT become obese).....so we stretch the truth with our friends and family and say that it's for medical reasons. We hate it when dogs beg at the table and cruise around the kitchen. It's not to say that people food is bad....as long as it's not prepared people food. I give Tia baby carrots, cheese and will try to see if she likes yoghurt, but it's given as a treat, or in her dog dish...not from our hands when we are sitting at the table. In response to your post (and I'm just making an assumption here), you seem to be more concerned with the fact that someone broke your "rule", rather than what your puppy ate (unless you're worried about chicken bones, which are really bad!). Just be honest and candid with your mom and try to make her understand WHY you have certain rules with your pup. And if your mom can't follow the rules...then she could get her own Yorkie to spoil They could be cousins! |
