How long have you had him? I would wait a week or two after he comes home before you bathe him. Being taken away from his mom and littermates is so stressful. There's no need to stress him out more by giving him a bath right away. I bathe my yorkies once a month during the winter bc their skin gets so dry and once every 2 weeks during the summer. Some people bathe every week, but I feel like this is too harsh on their skin and it strips their skin of it's natural oils. I would say bathe once every 2 weeks, but that's just my opinion.

8 weeks old! wow.. that is very young... i would wait also... let him settle in before you add a stressful experience like a bath i agree with every two weeks if you can... in between just wipe him down where he pees and his face..

We have had him 3 weeks, I was going to say about the oils in his skin, my staffie only gets bathed once or twice a year he is short haired and very clean. I do put 2 drops of Cod Liver Oil in his food to help his coat shine. I will be taking him to the palour (when his fur is long enough) for a wash and cut lol so maybe that will be OK for him.
