| Feeding problems with Penny Hello Everyone, I need your help and advise again. My Penny is refusing to eat her food. I mean she is refusing everything. It doesn't matter what I put in front of her, she sniffs it and walks away. That is, puppy food, puppy meal, people food, the lot. The only thing she will gobble up is cheese. I have even tried putting grated cheese with her food. No good. I have so much un-used puppy meal and un-opened canned food in the cupboard. Plus ground Turkey and Chicken in my freezer, I could start my own kennels. Does anyone have any advise please. By the way, she is not loosing any weight. Cant understand why not. She was a stray, so I dont know what her last so called owners fed her. Its not having the operation that has put her off her food because she was like this before. I am at my wits end. | 1st take a deep breath then decide what you want her to eat. Then give it to her in her feeding dish and leave it down for 15 minutes if she hasn't eaten it take it away and offer it again at the next feeding time. No titbits between meals. I promise she will eat, she won't starve herself. |

| The only food that Jack will eat is Ceasar. He doesn't like the puppy too much, so once in awhile I mix it with some adult Ceasar. I leave dry Iams down all the time so he can snack. ( He doesn't like soft Iams) I give him a container in the morning about 7am and one in the evening at 7pm, other than that he doesn't want to eat except a bite or two of the dry during the day. He is 7 months and weighs 6.3 pounds. These guys can be so picky Good luck

| Penny not eating Thanks for you answer. We are beginning to wonder if the operation Penny had on her knee's has anything to do with her not eating. She had a small meal in the vets the morning after her op. But since then she has hardly eaten anything. She is, we think, 6 months old and weighs 5 1/2 pounds. I dont know if thats the correct weight for her age or not. She is very lively, wants to play all the time. So I dont know. I leave RC Mini Puppy 33 out for her all the time. But she just wont touch it or anything else. Are all Yorkies like this? I have been used to Golden Retrievers. Having a Yorkie is SO different. Penny's Mom |

| Penny's Mom, I can relate to every concern of yours. I finally quit as "Maggie's Short Order Cook". I think she was enjoying watching me try to get her to eat. I did however cave in when we first got her. Her favorite thing was cheese scrambled egg. Then it went to Gerber baby food meats. She wouldn't touch dry food. Finally after filling my pantry with every possible dog food, I QUIT. She now eats and loves Purina Pro Plan Small Breed Puppy Food. She also like Ceasar's Puppy wet food. She only gets a little of the Ceasar's because they say that the dry food is better for them. I do know that she likes my hand for a bowl a whole lot better than stainless steel. The reason I was so very worried in the beginning, is because her breeder said DO NOT let them go 8 hours without eating. I did however make sure she got her Nutristat so she wouldn't crash on me. Tough Love was harder on me than her. |

| Mine are fussy, too. Aren't they all? lol The only thing mine will eat is Nature Balance Beef roll, and turkey roll. I won't get the lamb...personal thing... But it's supposed to be full nutrition for them, and it's only 5 gm fat. They love it, and look forward to eating now. |
