| Bad Breath...phew!! My Sassy has bad breath enough that I can hardly bear her near my face. The vet said she had some tartar and that may be causing it. She is getting spayed on Valentine's Day. I am very nervous about it. I don't want to turn around and have her anesthetized again for teeth cleaning. So... I am trying a new product that is made to help with the bad breath as well as loosen the tartar over time. Has anyone else here used PetzLife Oral Care Spray? I would love to hear your results. Thanks, Sammi Last edited by sammiz; 02-10-2007 at 11:10 PM. |

| Hi Sammi, So your Sassy has a bad case of Halitosis! Yucko Plucko. If her teeth need to be cleaned, the vet should be able to do it at the same time she is spayed. Try not to worry too much. She will be just fine.... by this time next week she will be well on the road to recovery...and no more pms! I am waiting to get my PetzLife from BeyondSpoiled. Will report in after I get it |

| Ya have him clean her teeth during the spay, thats what I've always done, it saves alot $ to since you dont have to pay for a second anesthetic. I have been using the petzlife gel & a finger brush. It helps the breath, I'm bad & forget to do it everyday like a good mommy should. It kills bacteria which is very important for these little ones. |

My vet won't clean her teeth at the time of the spay. He said that there are too many germs/bacteria involved in that and he wants to keep a very sterile environment for the spay. Makes sense to me. She doesn't have PMS...she has PMU (pick me up) amd HM (hold me) and DLM (don't leave me) and LGTBN (let's go to bed now). Goodness, this girl likes to take naps more than I do. BUT....now I have a reason to nap. You know...just keeping my baby happy, that's all. | |

| I have heard wonderful first-hand experiences from members of another forum about that product! I just got mine in the mail today, and I started it tonight. You just have to make sure and do it everyday, and follow the instructions that come with it. Good luck! I hope it will get rid of the plaque so that she doesn't have to go under anesthesia twice. That's what I'm hoping for my Miko. He has a weak liver, so anesthesia is very hard on him. We really need this to work for him.

| I promise...I will do it every day I will not miss a day. Never. In the morning when we wake up she comes up to give kisses but the smell of her breath gags me. It breaks my heart to not let her up near my face but I just can't until we get this handled. |

| "Arms Length Huggies" When Maggie was younger and still trying to lose her teeth, the breath could kill a buzzard. Our vet too, would not clean her teeth, or remove any baby teeth while she was bening spayed. I found some breath mints at Petsmart, called YipYap. One a day and her breath was as fresh as a new born baby. Now that she has all of her adult teeth, I still give her a breath mint just for a treat.

| I am also wondering.... Is this something that they will like? Once they get a taste? Or is it something that will be a battle? I know my first experience of battling with Sassy was over some medicine and I never thought she woudl be able to be so successful in keeping me from putting it in her mouth. I would hate to have to go through that on a regular basis, so I am hoping it will be something that is pleasant for her. |

| That's really too bad. Have vet clean her teeth while she is under being spayed. Good luck with that. Then after brush her teeth daily and use Petzlife according to directions. You won't be sorry and your baby will thank you for it. You'll get sweet smelling kisses from then on. Carol & Buddy |

| See how she reacts to you putting your finger on her teeth as if you were putting the gel on there. If she's okay with that, then she should be just fine with the gel. I smelled it, and it doesn't smell too bad. My husband and I used it on Miko last night, and it wasn't too much of a struggle. But you can't let him eat or drink 30 min before or after you use it. Good luck, let us know how it goes
