| Innova Puppy or Canidae I just subscribed for a Whole Dog magazine and received their 2007 report of best foods. My puppy was on Nutro Lamb and Rice but I want to switch her to either Canidae or Innova puppy. Except for the price differences, is there any other reason that one brand is superior to the other, i.e., taste, nutriciousness, presence or absence of sertain digestive enzymes, etc. Thank you. | To my knowledge both are excellent. However, all dogs have their preferences. In the past YorkieTalk members have sent samples to each other, so the owner can see which brand would work for her puppy. Perhaps some members can send you a little sample bag, if you would like (and ask ). Good luck.

| I would call the company and ask them for a sample. http://www.naturapet.com/display.php?d=contact-us Most companies are really good about sending samples out.

| Thank you, everybody, for your kind offers and advices. I've decided to try Canidae. The deal online for a 5lbs bag is $6.99 and they offer a full refund if the dog does not like it. So, I will just buy it. |

| Mine didn't like Innova either. They completely turned their noses up at it. They eat Canidae very well. In my opinion, Canidae is the best dog food on the market. |

| Loki likes Canidae. He didn't like the Innova. You can buy Canidae around here so if you have to pay more than $7-8 w/ S&H it might be cheaper just to drive somewhere to get it.

I am thinking about trying Canidae too, my vet only sells it and Chicken Lovers. I bought the Chicken Lovers, but since then I have read alot of good things about Canidae from this site. Did the 2007 report recommend the All Stages or the Lamb and Rice? Which one are you going to try? How is your pup doing? | |

| need some help??? Hi. Im new to this site so I need your help.I have a nine month old yorkie and Im feeding her Royal canine mixed with ceasar, I dont know if this is the best food for my dog or not.I am willing to spend more for her food just to give her the best since lately I have problems regarding her skin.she has flaky skin and I am overly confused what has been causing it.Im not sure if its the weather, the shampoo (premium oatmeal, fourpaw and bio groom conditioner)or the food that she eats, cause i had been hearing things about royal.also,I tried mixing some safflower oil on her food and still the same, the store again recommended on mixing lipiderm on her food.(using it for a week now) still i cant see any changes.please give me some advice on this matter.I am so desperate and frustrated with the products that ive been buying.thanks |

| The 2007 Report has only recommended All Stages for Canidae while all Innova and Innova Evo products were there. This really made me think twice about whether or not I should try Innova because it seems to be a superior overall brand. My dog is doing great, thank you for asking. With respect to Royal Canin, similar to Canidae, not all Royal Canin varieties were recommended. In particular Royal Canin 33 was not on the list. |
