| Be careful not to overdose her system with to much flea medication. Don't over do it with flea shampoo, sprays, medicine, and collars etc. Make sure to wash everything she lays or play with in hot water. You now have to kill the flea eggs that are nesting where you can't see them. You want to spray all the areas where she lays or pillows and blankets need to be washed. Good luck getting rid of them. Kodak had a flea on him when he was around 5mths old. I rushed straight to the vet and got rid of the problem fast. But I helped my friend and her maltese get rid of fleas with the advice of her vet.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | frontline kills fleas after they have hatched. if you have a realy bad flea infestation then the fleas are not just on the dog. You will see more fleas on your dog sometimes after applying frontline because it is causing the fleas to rise to the top of the hair coat instead of being buried in the skin. Also eggs can be hatching which is releasing more fleas. AND there are probably flea eggs all over your house which are now hatching. you need to clean everything and probably let off a flea bomb in yoru house to kill them all. First trying giving your dog a bath. if they are just on your dog and not in the house then the bath will kill the rest of them. Use your regular shampoo, NOT flea shampoo becuase you do not want to overmedicate them.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | flea combs don't kill fleas. they can help get some of them off but they are not going to remove all the fleas from their body.

| After a couple of days of having Bailey when I had first got him I had noticed 2 or 3 fleas on him I rushed got him bathed and got some Advantage from his vet and never let him outside since! I can't stand the thought of fleas on my baby or in our home.......Bailey will be getting potty trained in the house and the only time he goes outside is when I walk him in his stroller......but I need to start getting him use of walking with a leash so he will be walking on the cement (even though a flea can still jump on him hopefully the avantage will knock that daredevil flea out if one does try to jump on my baby LOL) ..........I think the chances are greater in the grass so I won't let him play in the grass or go over to the grass.....This is just what I do for my dog...not saying its the thing that everyone should do but it definetly works for us! Bailey is Flea Free!!

| I found a flea on Lottie about 2wks ago, went to petsmart got Johnsons spot on, Bob Martin flea shampoo, Bob Martin Home flea flogger Plus twin pack. I gave lottie a bath once she was dry i used the spot on. It said that you could re-apply after 7days. I then washed everything that lottie came in contact with that was able to fit in the washing machine. Used the flea flogger in my sitting room and bedroom. I dont have a very big apartment so had the doors to the hallway open when i did the sitting room. anyhoo she seemed to be over them. I kept checking her and there wasnt any signs, no tell tale "droppings" left behind by the fleas. I gave her another bath a week later, this time with the flea shampoo and then once dry gave her another spot on. That was this wednesday. Yesterday she was scratching again but not much, then tonite while sitting with her on the sofa i see another flea, so i check her all over and theres a couple of "droppings" but no more fleas. I managed to lose the flea i found on her much to my disgust. I was told by a woman in the supermarket that nothing you buy from a supermarket or a pet store will get rid of fleas that the only things that will shift them you have to get from the vet. My mother sent me 4-in-1 pest repeller, that is meant to keep rodents away but will also work on ants/cockroaches/spiders/fleas and other insects but it says that with in 2wks of using the unit (it plugs into the power socket) you may see an increase in the pests your trying to get rid of but that it then will settle down and you will be pest free. I wonder if thats why im seeing a flea again, but im kinda annoyed considering ive used the shampoo and the spot on, on lottie, and used the floggers to kill them in the apartment and i still find one....i have pretty much kept her inside since she first got them, only taking her out in the paved area out side the apartment to play ball,. I hate the thought of her having fleas and the thought that i have them in my apartment. Im planning on going to the vet if it doesnt get better in the next week and buying stuff from them. Its annoying when ive spent alot already on flea stuff that doesnt appear to have worked. And they dont even give you an idea of how long they will take to work. im just so confused |
