| Worried...not eating much...so I Ever since I brought Sassy home, she appears uninterested in her food. I could sometimes get her to eat by feeding her each morsel by hand. Even this didn't always work. I am worried because she is pretty little and I didn't want her to have problems because of not eating enough. Sooooo... today, I got some canned CANADIE (lamb and rice in lamb broth) and mixed about a tablespoon with her dry. My goodness! She ate like she had been starving. Has anybody else used this brand of food? I tried to find some canned Eukanuba, but, alas...there just wasn't any. Sammi |

| I haven't used Canadie, but I currently feed my puppy the canned Eukanuba for puppy, mixed with some of the dry puppy Eukanuba. Its what the breeder had Ralfie on, but I've noticed he's doing the same thing u described: he won't eat much of the wet. I plan on going to the store and getting an individual size portion of maybe 6 different types of food (hopefully all quality). Then I'm really going to let Ralfie choose. Ive heard great things on this site about Chicken Soup for the puppy lovers soul- going to try to find that & add into the taste test. If what you found meets all ur puppys nutritional needs and he likes it, I would stick with it Yorkies are picky little things |

| Thank you for your response. I looked for that brand, Chicken Soup for the puppy lovers soul. I found dry but no wet. The breeder that I got her from has her on Purina puppy chow and nothing wet. I'm thinking maybe she was just bored with it..or...since she is used to eating with the other Yorkies that she lived with...perhaps this has affected her eating habits. She is a year old and already has certain habits, I would guess. It's interesting that yours won't eat wet and mine won't eat much dry. Picky...yes, I would say so. I am wondering if there is an on-line source for me to order those individual size portions like you referred to. I can't see buying a huge can and throwing most of it away. Thanks again. Sammi |

| My newbie (Sparky) sometimes acts disinterested in his food. I read on some Yorkie website about supplementing with Chicken baby food. So I bought some and he's eating 2 teasp. Science diet (moistened with warm water, heated in the microwave about 8 seconds) mixed with about 1/4 tsp. chicken baby food. I just mix the baby food up enough in the science diet that he can smell it but not lick it all off in the firsts few licks. He eats it really well. Then sometimes he acts not interested at all I'll give him a little bit of peanut butter and that seems to hold him for an hour or two, and he usually perks up with the next feeding. |

| Well...went to the vet today. Seems like the wet food was the wrong thing to do. After tonight I will go get another kind of dry and keep going until I find something she likes, since she won't eat the Purina Puppy Chow. He also said I need to go to adult food now. I'm gonna try Eukanuba first. Hopefully, that will be a hit and we won't have to run the gamut. T'would be nice if I could just find some samples to try. This could be expensive. She already has a tartar buildup on her back gumline and needs her teeth cleaned. She also got groomed today and I can see her little eyes. Aawww. She is beautiful. And now she can see better! I have an appointment to get her spayed and I am already nervous. I really worry about the anesthesia, but I do like and trust my vet. That's a big part of it, I guess. |

| Love Canidae dry food - that's Loki's main diet. Their wet food is decent but stinks so we use Merrick canned food instead.

| Ohhh. I can give her eggs? That's great because I love eggs. Something I can share with her that won't hurt her. !!!! Yeah!! I am going to try to find something more to her liking tomorrow. I can't abide with the bad breath as she is always near my face. The vet said it may be the tartar causing the bad breath, but I need to get her spayed before I can consider getting her teeth cleaned. But then, when she gets her teeth cleaned they will have to anesthetize her again and that worries me, too. Maybe I can switch the foods back and forth so she won't get bored eating the exact same thing all the time. Is that a bad thing? |

| Have you tried brushing her teeth? Loki's breath is fine from when I brush his teeth until the next meal time.

| Thank you. I am looking into that. I sa a toothbrush that fits on the finger but can't remember where I saw it (on-line). I'm gonna try that one and see what happens. I suppose there is something special that I use to put on the toothbrush or just use the toothbrush? |

| I just use the brush because the dog toothpastes smell nasty. I buy the 99c kids toothbrushes because they are small and soft

| Well that's a great idea! Thank you. I have never brushed a pet's teeth. This will certainly be interesting. Sassy is so sweet. Her personality is very loving and she is so gentle. I hope I don't distress her overly much with this. I like for other people to do those things so she won't think I am being mean to her but I can't think of anyone that would be willing to come brush her teeth for me every day. |
