| Wes won't eat when we're not home Maddie will eat whenever she is hungry, but Wesley can't eat unless my boyfriend or I am home. I think he has a nervous tummy. Is there anything I can do to help him? He's 10.5 lbs and he isn't left alone for more than 5 hours so I don't worry about hypoglycemia, but I hate to think he is hungry and can't eat. |

| Wes If Wes was truly hungry he would eat...5 hrs without food is a very short time for anything over 3 pounds or so..you might feed him a treat before you leave...you are a good pet owner. |

| dont worry your self Rocky is the same way i feed him when i get up in the morning around 6:45am and he usually leaves some food and he will not eat when i am not there but as soon as i get home he's chomping away on his food. I notice that on the weekends he dosent eat during the day either he goes smells his food has a drink of water and he is good. So i wouldnt worry if i were you if he were loosing weight it be a different story.

| Thank you for the responses. I am such a worrier over my two. I also watch too much Animal Planet about animals being neglected and not getting enough food, so I'm hypersensitive about making sure mine are always eating. I'm going to take your advice and try to relax. |

| My yorkie is a bit under 5 lbs and she doesn't eat ALLLL day while I'm at work for 8 hours. Sometimes I count how many kibbles I put in there and it's still the same when I come home 9 hours later. She eats like a pig once I get home. I was worried about her at first because she is so small but you know what? When they get hungry they WILL eat. She just sleeps all day while I'm gone so she doesn't feel hungry till she fully wakes up when I get home Don't worry Wes will be just fine. I also give Coco a little snack in the mornings now before I leave so she has something in her tummy.

| my lola is 12 weeks and the past few days seems to be just sniffing her food....she suffers with juvenile hypogycemia so i cant leave her hungry and end up giving her a treat! Do you leave your food down or take it away after 10 mins or so? I leave lola's down at the mo, but want to try taking it away to see if she'll learn to eat up! Have you found a solution to your non eating lill guy?

I leave food out all the time. Maddie is a picker so I want to make sure that she always has food available. I know that many people on YT pick up their food and it works great for them. It is something that I did try with Wes before we got Maddie, but that didn't really work either. I think it is great if it works for you and your pups, but I just don't think it's for us. You might want to give it a try with Lola though, it might work for you two. Good luck! | |

| I agree with everyone else, if they are hungry they will eat. And as long as he is healthy and isnt losing weight, I wouldnt worry about it. Izzy will leave his food during the day as well. Im gone 8-9 hours a day. I feed him in the morning then I willl put a second helping in his bowl for the second feeding. Sometimes I will come home and it will be completely gone and other times there will be food in it. I believe he sleeps all day too until I come home...my puppy is a snoozer anyway!

| Oh and I think a lot of dogs are like that. My friend has a 45lb bull dog mix and she wont eat while she's gone. I used to live with her and when my friend went out of town, Sugar would hardly eat even when I was there.

| Maddie is the same way. She don't eat until we are home. Well usually until I'm home. She seems fine, but I worry too! |
