| yay we aren't the only one!!when i was home visiting family i went to a vet that is a long time friend of the family for a second opinion on layla's anal glands and also asked about her nose discoloration and he said that there was nothing to worry about.. some of them just lose the color from scratching or whatever... but i wanted to know if anyone else had this. at first i was worried it was a growth or something but the vet made me feel better about it |

| Maddie had that when she was a puppy...probably around 6-9 months or so. I kept forgetting to ask the vet about it, so I just started putting neosporin on the spot and it went away...haven't seen it since!

Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | hhmmm.... When Abbie was a pup, someone who had a couple of Yorkies told me not to let her drink from plastic, that it would cause discoloration of the nose. Little pink or depigmentation spots?

| Toto's nose did this also. The vet said it's called "Snow Nose" and there was absolutely nothing to worry about ... she said her dogs have it also. It's caused from lack of sunlight, etc. She did, however, tell us to watch for other spots around other areas that are normally black ... eyes, lips, etc. Sometimes it's an indication of other problems going on. The one on her nose is the only one she has ever had and sometimes it gets darker.

| http://www.canismajor.com/dog/nose.html I used plastic bowls with my Maltese (RIP) and his nose turned brown. Read about plastic, changed to a glass bowl and it took quite awhile but it returned to black.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali scratched her nose and it got a bit of a bacterial infection and the black was gone in a spot so the vet gave me Panalog cream(neosporin for dogs) and it cleared up and returned to black.
