| I haven't ever picked up Kona or Bernie's food after a certain amount of time. Kona is a slow, picky eater, so I'd rather she eat when she is hungry. Bernie will often eat all of his food right after I put it down, but sometimes he'll take his time. I think because they are so little it is better to let them eat on their terms - when they are hungry.

| I still free feed mine and they are close to 2 yrs old. I have read that if you feed them at specific times you go from feeding 3 times a day to 2 at 1 yr old

| I start feed chelsea 6 month old twice daily. I skip lunch but gave her treat or cottage cheese during lunch time. She is 4lbs. She is also picky eater and only likes nutro. I put 1 tablespoon warm water in her kibble and she likes it since it makes the food warm. |

| i managed bunjee's meal times while he was potty training just so that i have an idea of when he might be ready to poop. now that he's potty trained, i free feed both boys and always leave kibbles in their dish. they'll usually eat 2x a day in the morning and at night. |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Lex is a standard sized yorkie so about 6 months or so I started regulating his feeding so I could get the potty training down. Honestly I think it depends on your dog and his/her feeding needs. Lex would eat two times a day at that point anyhow. He still only eats twice a day now even if leave the food down. I think it's good to see how they like to eat. Now that we have Lulu who is an itty bitty thing I leave food down because being a little monster she only eats a kibble at a time so she can eat at her own pace. Honestly you need to see what your doggie does.
