All you have to do is look at the ingredients. Nutro will win hands down any day over Pedigree.

If you see any kind of "by-product" listed on the label - pass it up!! If a real meat source is not the first ingredient - again pass it up!!! There are lots of posts about premium dog foods - if you do a search you will find several different lists that rate many different brands of dog food.

are there are healthier foods out there for them that are moist? duke refuses to eat hard food, he would rather just not eat. i've been feeding him pedigree moist and meaty and he loves that. the vet. said that it's not what you feed them, it's how much you feed them... when i asked about food, so, that wasn't exactly the answer i was looking for. just wondering if you had seen anything? he's not a pup, he's five.

There are some really good moist foods out there. Check out the line by Merricks; Grammy's pot pie is just one of them. Natural Balance also has some really good canned foods.

I would disagree with your vet. What you feed them makes a huge difference - particularly if you have an allergic pup, one with a sensitive stomach, liver shunt or pancreatitis.

thanks. i think i am going to have to go shopping one day just for dog food. i will look for that brand. he seems to be wanting a change anyway, even after i gave him his food yesterday, he pawed the bowl and looked up at me with these, "this food again?" eyes.

Default What to feed your Yorkie

You should watch the video "Truth About Pet Food" before deciding on a food for your Yorkie.
