| what's good dog food I'm wanting to get a feel for what kind of food I should get when I get my Yorkie. (okay, not cake....really)[lol] We feed our lab pedigree food, but from what I gather, it's best to get high quality food, and that pedigree is not good a good choice for Yorkies. What should I stay away from, and what are the good things to look for. I did a search and someone said to get something without corn. I don't need a specific brand, just some ingredients that are good, and what to stay away from. |

| Royal Canine is relly good. It made my tuckers hair silkier and shinier and more managable.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | After much research and study, I have been feeding Wysong products. I've tried many brands, Ruby is somewhat picky. This has been the only brand (Nurture w/pheasant variety) she will consistently eat and it is absolutely the best brand overall, IMO.

| I use royal canine too... I have tried many different kinds of "high end" food and the not so "high end", this is the one they eat the best.. I have decided that I have to just feed what they will eat. Mine are sooo picky! From what I hear, most yorkies are picky eaters... goodluck! d

| Any food on THIS LIST is super premium quality with no corn or wheat products. You cannot possibly go wrong with any of these foods. They are all EXCELLENT! Personally, I would not feed any food that was NOT on this list. |

| We feed Merricks here as well. We used to feed royal canin last year until I discovered there were much better options. However not one food works for all dogs. You may have to try a few different kinds first before you find the one that best suits your dog.

Check out www.petfooddirect. Also go to each individual brand website and some brands you can order straight from their website and other brands they will give you a list of places in your state where you can buy their product. If you get a 4 or 5lbs bag, it will cost you around $10 and it will last you for months. Since our guys are so small, you can afford to buy higher quality food without breaking the bank. | |
