| Yep you want to mix the royal canin with the new food and slowly decrease the amount of the royal canin. You want to do that any time there is a new food. Mine eat Royal Canin without any problems though

| I am not having any luck getting mine to eat the Natural Balance either. He is picking out the pieces of Science Diet and leaving the Natural Balance. Do you think it is because the Natural Balance is bigger? Isn't Royal Canin pretty small kibble like the Science Diet puppy food? Maybe I will try breaking it up some the next few days and see how that goes. Might be worth a try?

| i had the same problem with romeo. he was itchy and had dry patches from r/c. i was mixing r/c with chicken soup and the little stinker would pick out only the r/c and leave behind the chicken soup. i figured he just didn't like the taste. i went crazy getting tons of samples of every kind of food without corn. he only liked nutro lamb and rice. after sampling tons of samples. i just starting filling his bowl with nutro only. he's been on nutro ever since. i sprinke it with super 5 supplement from wellness and his skin and coat look wonderful.

| Natural Balance has a few flavors that you could try. If he doesn't like the one he's on try another...I know there's Duck and Potato, Fish and Sweet Potato, Venison and Brown Rice (which I feed), Vegetarian Formula and their regular. Also if the pieces are too big...just run them through a blender or food processor for a few seconds! Works like a charm! |

| Make sure the food that is mixed in to his normal food is about the same size as the normal food.. or try using a few pieces as 'treats' to get him used to it. Thats what worked with my beagle and my cousin's rottweiler. And testing it out like this might help you determine if your yorkie will get rash or anything from the new food.
