| Another feeding question I've been feeding Luna 3 times a day, 7am, 3pm, and 11pm. Since she was so fragile in the beginning, we'd gone from feeding every hour and gradually increasing the amount of food, while decreasing the frequency. We babystepped her up to this point to avoid a repeat of the scary ass ER vet visit and overnight stay for hypoglycemia. Here's where the question arises. She doesn't seem to really want the 3pm feeding, she barely touches it. She does now FINALLY eat the kibbles that I leave down all the time (when she thinks I'm not looking ). I am wondering if I can eliminate that 3 pm feeding and have the two other feedings 12 hours apart, and how to go about that without freaking her out. If it helps, she weights 2.6 lbs (as of last Saturday at the vet's), is 3.5 months old, and has nice firm poopies about 3 or 4 times a day.

| been there! hi, i can truly relate- I have a little boy"Presley" he is now 15 months and wieghs in at 6 pounds.. but re-member he was by what the breeder said sappose to be a tea cup-- i got him at 3 1/2 mths... and the first night i ended up at the animal hospital- $1100 later IV- and many visits later-- This is what i learned: when they weigh that little take in to effect they have small tummy's mine at 6 pounds has a stomach the size of a gulf ball. I leave dry food out all day, and give him 1/4 a small can of wet.. ideally dry food is best for a dog.. but, presley has what i call "model appitite" he is finicky, plus he eats what he wants.. some days more some days less, it is very important for your little one to eat i had to force feed through a siringe 10cc of A/D 4 times a day until he started gaining weight...It took 2 1/2 mths... You must stick with one wet food and do everything the same, they need patterns..also always have Nutra-Cal at hand an inch will help save them god forbid they get limp, mushy.. also what i use to do is mix it in with wet food.. but it is very important to monitor there eating.. Please know if you want to ever call me.. Private mess. me.. I Went through This .. I understand.. At one point my vet told me i have a sick dog and to return him.. 4mths. later..Lets just say i went to many vets. and i found one i love from this web site.. And My presley is Beautiful, and will always be with me ...And he is not a tea cup hehehe! He is a perfect toy-- And full of love..With eating issue's hope i helped' love Angela & Presley |

| It all depends on if she is eating enough dry kibble on her own to compensate for "missing" that meal. I still recommend feeding three times a day at that age though. Measure out the dry so you can see what she is consuming and then you will know. |

| Thanks all I'm gonna measure out the kibbles, but the thing is, she scatters it all over her xpen so it'll be quite the challenge remeasuring I'll still keep up the 3X a day, but the only meal she really eats with gusto is the night one, probably due to the tsp. of yogurt and Missing Link mixed in it. Maybe I should divide that up over her three meals, but it's such tiny amounts that it'd be a pain in the butt, plus I want to make sure that she's getting the ML for her dry flaky skin.

| I don't see why you couldn't add the yogurt to every meal, as long as she doesn't have any diarrhea you can't overdose on it. Most tolerate it without any problems. Just add it to one more meal and if stools are fine after a couple of days, try adding it to the other meal. |
