| Cesar Canine Cuisine I've been feeding my three month old yorkie Cesar and I've noticed that he poops less. He poops once during the day, and then several times in the middle of the night. I'm worried that he doesn't poop so much during the day. Is this bad? Does she have a slow metabolism or something? I always give her plenty of exercise, but even after that she doesn't poop. When I had her on Eukanuba, she pooped a lot!! At least three times during the day. But then for some reason she refuses to eat Eukanuba and became a fussy eater, that's when I switched her to Cesar. Should I be worried that maybe Cesar food is not being digesting properly? |

| MIne dont poop alot either. I feed my two a 1/2 tin of Caesars each in the Morning. Then they have to eat their hard food. Feeding Caesars only in bad for their teeth. You should be feeding your dog a hard food also. Royal Canin is what mine eat and they are picky eaters

| You can still feed the Caesars just given it as more of a treat than a meal. Good luck

| I would not worry about how much he is pooping. When they are tiny puppies, they might poop 6-8 times a day. But as they grow, they will poop less often. Quality puppy food will cut down on the number too. Mine usually just does it twice a day now -- he is 3 months old too. I would definatly try to get some dry dog food mixed in there. It is so much better for them. I give mine canned too to get him to eat a little more, but I want to slowly get him to all dry food. I wish I had not started with the canned at all now. I read many here talk about the Premium Dry foods, read everything I could find online and I do believe dry is going to be the best choice.

| Still won't eat dry I bought her the Royal Canine for the Yorkshire and she will NOT eat it! She sniffs it, licks it, and spits it out. I'm beginning to think she is a lazy biter or something. She HATES dry kibbles now that she's had Cesar/Wet Food. She used to eat Eukanuba (dry) perfectly and then started being picky!! I try to mix it with her wet food but she will NOT eat the kibbles at all!! It's making me furious!! Anyone know a solution? I fed her Cesar this morning and I will NOT give her any more until she eats her kibbles. I'm going to starve the poor girl a little just so she could eat it. |

| She is a picky eater. Try sprinkling some parmesian cheese on the hard food

| Samples! I believe that Royal Canin will send a free sample for you to try instead of buying a whole bag. Might save ya some $$$. |

| Royal Canin has corn in it. Cesar's is junk. Try feeding something better and I bet she will eat it. I recommend Canidae (Chicken & Rice or Lamb & Rice www.canidae.com) or Merrick canned. Canned food is OK on their teeth as long as you brush them regularly and you feed a high quality canned food. It will cause some dogs to be more gassy though. Dry is the best consistent diet. Cesar's Chicken: Sufficient Water for Processing, Beef By-Products, Meat By-Products, Liver, Poultry By-Products, Chicken, Calcium Carbonate, Titanium Dioxide, Sodium Tripolyphosphate, Carrageenan, Dried Yam, Xanthan Gum, Natural Flavors, Potassium Chloride, Salt, Erythorbic Acid, Liquid Grilled Chicken Flavor, Guar Gum, Zinc Sulfate, Sodium Nitrite (for color retention), Vitamin A, D3 and E Supplements, D-Calcium Pantothenate, Thiamin Mononitrate (Vitamin B1). Merrick's Grammy's Pot Pie: Chicken, Chicken Broth, Chicken Liver, Fresh Red Jacket New Potatoes, Fresh Carrots, Fresh Snow Peas, Fresh Red Delicious Apple, Potato Starch-modified, Olive Oil, Calcium Carbonate, Potassium Chloride, Sodium Tripolyphosphate, Flax Seed Oil (For Omega -3), Natural Caramel Color, Poultry Seasoning (Thyme, Sage, Rosemary), Yucca Schidigera Extract, Choline Chloride, Salt, Lecithin, Zinc Amino Acid Complex, Mixed Tocopherols, Iron Amino Acid Complex, Vitamin E Supplement, Manganese Amino Acid Complex,Vitamin B12 Supplement, Vitamin A Acetate, Copper Amino Acid Complex, d-Calcium Pantothenate,Vitamin D3 Supplement, Niacin, Riboflavin Supplement, Biotin, Ethylenediamine Dihydriodide, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Folic Acid, Thiamine Mononitrate, Sodium Selenite.

| I have a picky eater too- but found something that works! My yorkie just turned 1 and it has been a year long battle trying to feed her. I have tried: Nutro, Iams, Science Diet, and Royal Canin for dry foods. For wet, I have tried Nutro and some sort of all natural canned puppy stew or something like that from Petco. Do you know that Petco will take your dry food back with a receipt within 30 days? not sure if they'll give you a store credit or cash back but I think it's worth knowing. I found this out too late and now I have all these foods sitting in my garage. I had limited success with Nutro Rice and chicken wet food and Royal Canin. My yorkie simply doesn't like the dry and I'm not sure if it's a texture thing? I then met someone recently at a party who also had a picky yorkie and asked her what she fed her dog. She left and came back with a container of Eukanuba petite small breed dry food and a few containers of Cesars Grilled Chicken and Porterhouse Steak for me to try. She told me to mix a half container of the wet (mash up the wet real good with a fork) with a handful of the dry. Mix it up good and microwave for 10 seconds and serve. My yorkie LOVES it! I couldn't believe it! She actually wiimpers when it's time to eat now. She's been on this diet for about a month now, twice a day. You can't imagine the relief I felt or feel now that she eats. I highly recommend giving it a try. |

| My vet said he spends half his day telling people to stop being "stool watchers." "This seems to be a fascinating sort of passtime for a lot of people," he said. Dogs like people have different bowel habits.... much of it depends on how often they eat - what they are eating - how much exercise they get - the amount of fluid they're drinking, their age, etc. etc. etc. **** Stop and think about people --- some people go to the bathroom at the same time once every day, others go twice a day - some every other day - etc. etc. and it is normal for all of them. I have one dog that goes to the bathroom outside - and to tell the truth, I don't have a clue how often he goes to the bathroom - and really, I could care less. He's perfectly healthy! My other dog - a 14-month-old Yorkie usually goes twice a day - but, believe me, I'm not counting. If you dog is eating and drinking well and is happy, affectionate, and playful -- you certainly don't need to be worrying about his stools. My vet said, there are two times to watch -- 1) If they have diarrhea, and 2) If they don't seem to be going at all...... Keep an eye on them ... ***** Thank God - no one's keeping an eye on me!!!!! | My toy poodle 'attempted' to be picky. Once she discovered canned food through the art of my best friend........she literally would stick her nose up in the air and wouldn't touch her dry kibble. I was scared because she wasn't eating and took her to the vet. The vet recommended I 'ignore it' and see how she did. Yup, after about 2 days she gave in and ate her kibble with such love.........she licked the bowl.......lol Yorkies may suffer from hypoglycemia so I would recommend supplementing a little nutrical and wait til she gets very hungry. I believe they are like children.......very smart and know what THEY want. I know many won't agree with me, but I am just sharing my experience.
