| When do yorkies lose their baby teeth? Hi everyone...I am just wondering if there is a specific time when yorkies lose their baby teeth? Bella will be six months on December 1st and I don't think she has lost any yet? How many do they lose? Would I see them if she did? Any advice is appreciated...I know if they don't fall out on their own the vet will have the pull them when she gets spayed right? |

| My vet said teething starts at around 5 months. Some people never notice the change from baby teeth to adult teeth. You may never see the teeth as they end up swallowed or in the vacuum. Gracie is 23 weeks and just now has the last of her adult teeth coming in. I have been inspecting her mouth so I was aware when she had lost teeth. Her teething started at about 20 weeks. The new adult teeth are bigger and look very white.

| Layla started around 5 months.. but i would never know she was teething if i wasn't in her mouth looking... her front ones were gone and the new ones had come up before i noticed... she must have eaten them when they fell out... or something... i began taking notice when her adult canine teeth were coming in.. but her babies were staying... she is now 8 months.. has had her 4 baby canines surgically removed and has one more baby molar that is going to fall out ANY day now! layla was for the most part unaffected by it.. even after having them pulled... good luck!! |

| I think I have only "seen" about two baby teeth with all the Yorkies I have had. The way you know the baby teeth aren't falling out like they should is that you will see a double row of teeth. Teething usually starts about 5 months, but unless your checking daily it usually goes on without any notice. It is very common for Yorkies not to lose all of their baby teeth so when you have her spayed if you have double sets of canine teeth (the upper and lower fang teeth) it is wise to have the baby set removed at this time since they are already under anesthesia. |

| I'd also wondered about this myself. Venus is 5 1/2 months old. I keep checking, as much as she'll let me. So I've learned from this post too! Thank all of you that know whats going on, helping us that wonder about these things! You all are the best |

| Tonight, I caught Gracie playing with something on the floor. I picked it up and, you guessed it, it was one of her baby teeth! I have white carpet so I'm sure I would have missed it had I not caught her playing with it.

| Thank you all for posting about your babies losing their teeth. My son and Molly where playing around a little while ago and my son noticed a small blood stain on Molly's toy. We checked her all over and saw no signs of where she hurt herself. Then we opened her mouth and saw her back tooth was gone. I flipped out on my son I thought he was pulling to hard on the toy and pulled Molly's tooth out. So I got on YorkieTalk and found out that they lose their baby teeth. I never knew that. I am so relived. Thank you all again!!
