| Hootie has been throwing up almost every morning Sometimes it is the white foamy stuff and sometimes it is dark brown mucusy stuff and sometimes it is yellow bile. Do you think she does this because she is hungry? She is very tiny (2.5lbs) and eats ALL the time and all throughout the day. Maybe she just has a really fast metabolism. She never throws up any food and is acting completely normal otherwise. Whenever she throws up, I immediately give her a treat and she is fine. There is really no way I can feed her any later. She eats right before we go to bed around 10:00 and eats in the mornings when we get up around 7:00, but she usually throws up in the bed before we get up around the same time every morning (between 6 and 6:30). Any thoughts? Should I just start waking up earlier to feed her in the mornings to see if that helps? |

| I have always heard that the white foamy stuff is attributed to being hungry, but should I be worried that it is happening almost every morning? I am thinking I might need to wake up earlier to feed Hootie. |

I bet Mason just needs more food, too. I have always heard that is what the white foamy stuff signifies.

| OH poor baby hootie . . hope she feels better soon. My dogs sometimes throws up but not constantly . . . more like rare occurences. I have learned NOT to panick and just see how they are doing . . . I did not realize your babies eat so late mine are done by 6:00pm unless they had a late breakfast (on weekends when I have the luxury of sleeping in) so it gets moved to about 7:00 - 7:30pm. Well, both my babies sends their huggles to Hootie and hope she gets well soon. |

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | We struggled with this with Magic and we changed to 3 meals a day....one right before bed so we could make sure she had something in her tummy at bedtime. (We feed the girls at 6am and then 5pm and 8:30-9pm.) I would suggest a favorite snack right before bed and see if that helps.

Thank you SOOOO much, Des!!!!!!!! I free feed so they can really eat whenever they want, but I think they wait and eat late because by then they have realized that they aren't getting anymore treats!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali was doing this all the time. Every morning right before I got up around 6:30 and the vet said to feed her 3 meals a day. She is 16 month old and gets fed at 7 am , 2-3 pm and 10 pm. It solved her problem. But if she goes any longer than 10 hours with out food she will throw up the bile. Try and make sure she is eating at 10 pm. Hope this helps!
