Sensible Choice I've been reading the threads on what everyone feeds their yorkie...I feed mine Sensible Choice because it was what my breeder was using. I haven't seen anything good or bad about it listed here...does anyone have an opinion? I'm not sure what makes a dog food bad or good so if someone could let me know what they think about Sensible Choice I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Sensible Choice is owned by the Royal Canin company.... Website is www.sensiblechoice.com Dog formulas do not contain corn (they reforumulated the cat and now those do have some corn). It's one of the best ones the pet store near my house carries.... When I worked there we sold a lot of it and rarely heard any complaints about intolerances to it. The SC Natural Blend formulas are better than the "regular" SC... But even if you are feeding the basic you could definitely do a lot worse (Iams, Purina, Pro Plan, SD, yuck!)... If the pup likes it and it's working for him, stick with it.

Chicken meal, brown rice, chicken, oatmeal, brewers rice, chicken fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols), natural chicken flavor, dried tomato pomace, flax, fish meal, brewers dried yeast, dried egg product, canola oil, potassium chloride, salt, extract of chicory, apples, blueberries, spinach, sweet potatoes, dried kelp, dehydrated alfalfa meal, yucca schidigera extract, cloves, parsley, calendula, dandelion, basil, calcium carbonate, choline chloride, zinc proteinate, vitamin E supplement, ascorbic acid, zinc oxide, manganese proteinate, copper proteinate, extract of rosemary, manganous oxide, copper sulfate, vitamin A acetate, fish oil, sage, niacin supplement, calcium pantothenate, sodium selenite, vitamin B12 supplement, vitamin D3 supplement, calcium iodate, riboflavin supplement, pyridoxine hydrochloride, thiamine mononitrate, biotin, dried Lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation product, dried Enterococcus faecium fermentation product, dried Lactobacillus plantarum fermentation product, dried Lactobacillus casei fermentation product, dried Lactobacillus lactis fermentation product, dried Bifidobacterium bifidum fermentation product, dried Enterococcus diacetylactis fermentation product, folic acid. It all depends on which formula you went w/, but they all seem to not have enough of the good stuff. Lots of fillers too, that when broken down simply turn into sugar. Who wants that? It's reasonably priced, but for the same price I think you could find a better quality food.
