| hi there neighbor...what part of Oregon are you in? You must treat for worms with pyrantel "Drontal" to successfully treat and rid them...its nothing to delay on they can cause further complications if not treated. hope this helps

| The vet told me they needed a stool sample so they could determine which kind of worm it was before they could treat it. But then they told me to just double up on the heart worm meds and that would do it. |

| If your dog is a puppy and you're seeing round worms in the stools or vomit - most likely they're roundworms and you can buy over the counter wormers. I use the active ingredient pyrantal pamoate, a liquid wormer. If you are seeing pieces of things that look like flat grains of rice, it is probably segments of a tapeworm. You can buy a wormer for tapeworms which is usually just one pill, but not as effective as what the vet can prescribe. Follow the directions carefully and do some research to self-diagnose which worms you are dealing with - hookworms you will never see in the stools. My furkids Donating Member | JMO but, If it were me I wouldn't give her meds unless she had her stool tested first...what if you give her a med and it's for the wrong type of worm? Maybe you could have your Aunt take a look at it...maybe she can tell you what kind it is and take it from there...If I were you I would bring her to the vet and make the payments....I won't tell hubby! shhhhhh

My kids' doc said there is things that look like ringworm that arent ringworm...and my kids would have got it too if it was...we have 2 young kids and having it for over 4 months now would def mean if it was ringworm we would of had it...i think fergie will be fine with over the counter multi purpose worm treatment..
