My Yorkie doesn't like his food She is 11 weeks old. When I got her she was really sick due to the kennel not feeding her for 30 hours before I got her. I have been feeding her soft food and she loves it. I always leave her food in her crate, but she won't eat it. I have tried Bill Jack, Ekunuba, Imes, and Science Diet. I have another dog that eats Ole Roy and my yorkie will eat that. I have been letting her eat it because I want her to eat something, but I don't want to get her hooked. How do I get her to start eating her food?

Since most yorkies tend to be allergic to corn and wheat products, which are in most commercial dog foods, I would start off by getting a Super Premium quality food, which don't contain corn or wheat products. Any food on this list with a proten content betwee 20-30% is an EXCELLENT choice in food. I would personally recommend Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's Soul because the kibbles are very very tiny and easy for tiny puppies to handle and chew up. I would put some hard food in a blender and grind it up or put it in a ziploc and crush it with the back of a spoon or something like that. Then, start mixing it in with the wet food in the mornings and then throughout the rest of the day, just leave a little bowl of the ground dry food out by itself. You can also try wetting the dry food until it gets soggy. Just really try to start him on dry food because it is not food for their teeth to only eat wet food. However, wet and dry together are fine. At this young age, eating human food is better than not eating anything at all. Of course dog food is best, but if he won't eat dog food right now, you can try putting boiled chicken, rice, cottage cheese, or plain yogurt on top of his food to try to entice him to eat it. Best of luck to you! YT is such a great resource. You will find lots of good info here on how to care for your new little angel.

Could I crush her food up and mix it with water and give it to her with a syringe? I feed her canned food with a syringe.
