| Yorkie not feeling well Hello I just wondered if anyone may have and Idea how to stop diareha ? My Yorkie has had it for 2 days, He is drinking plenty of water , I make sure of that because of dehydration. He has been sneaking other foods from our other dogs quite regularly. I suspect it may be the reason. I have changed their eating situations so that that wont happen. Any wont eat his food hardly at all which is eukinuba, he loves solid gold which is excellent but I think it may be what is giving him the problem. If i just feed him what he likes which is solid gold will the diahrea go away ? If I mix the two foods together he picks out the one he likes. Any ideas how to bring his poop to solid again ? Thanks Kim |

| sick Give him a teaspoon ofnkaopeptate morning and evening..but if it is not better in the morning I would take him to the vet. Give him one type food and do not vary fromit..he will eat, maybe not enough to make you happy, but enough to be healthy. he is playing the waiting game. Trying to see who vcan out last..you givign him want he wants and you giving hmi the food you want him to eat. |

| Keopectate is for humans you can get it at the drugstore. When Chachi had diahrea I gave him 3ccs of it at night. The diahrea doesn't go away right away. Takes a little bit of time. If your puppy is young be careful because he can dehydrate easy and you might want to take to the vet to see if there is something else going on. You can also feed him hamburger and rice. Some people say that is good for it also I haven't tried it.

| kao I would not recommend a medication unless my vet has told me about it. So..my vet said the common OTC kao is safe. Pepto bismol is not as good for some reason I forgot...something in it. There are no side effects I have ever noticed..and my vet said it was very hard to overdose a Yorkie with it. If the diaherra is bad, i would give him a bland diet like chicken/ rice, no dry until it clears up and see the vet. |

| If your baby has had diarreah for several days he can dehydrate even though he is still drinking lots of water! We found this our the hard way a couple of months ago ... same thing happened with our Toto and even though she was drinking lots of water the vet said if we had waited to bring her in the results could have been terrible. She had a gastrointestinal infection and had to be on antibiotics for a few days and it cleared it up. Like YorkieRose said, I would take him to the vet just to be safe.

| I helped mine one time by giving her baby rice cereal mixed with chicken baby food, she loved it and it was easy to get in a hurry. |
