| Coughing after Barking Just curious if anyone had any insight on this. When our 4 month old Achilles gets done barking, sometimes he coughs. It almost sounds like something gets stuck in his throat. Its not always, but maybe 50% of the time. Thanks in advance. |

| I am new to Yorkie talk but have had many trips to the vet. The coughing may be related to the rings of the trachea partially collapsing. It is common with yorkies due to the small airway. One way to find out is to get an xray of the trachea to find out for sure. Not really nothing to worry about and not to much you can do about it. Again it is a common issues with this small breed however it helps to get it checked out next time he goes to the vet. Take care. |
