| YIKES at Vet appt! Starsky went to get his next set of shots today and had a reaction. It was scary. His gums got white and he got limp. The doc. took him back and he started vomiting they gave him steroids intervenously and a Benedryl shot. He had to stay and be observed for 2 hours. He is doing fine now. but how scary. After the shot she said she had 4 other dogs that had that same vaccination who had reactions. She is going to pull it and not use it and look into why that happend. I don't know why she had to wait until the 5th dog has a reaction. But thank god he is okay and back to normal now. She is going to give him a shot of benedry before the next shot, next time. My poor baby!

| You really just scared the crap out of me. I (well my best friend) give my babies their shots. (she's an RN) Anyway she just gave Cleo her shot about 30 min. ago. Please correct me if I am wrong but he had his reaction almost immediately? Just to make sure Cleo is okay. Don't want to rush her to vet at this hour. Holy cow, I think I am breathing again. Can't imagine how you felt. You think that taking them to the vet is okay. Just normal stuff. Thank goodness you didn't give it yourself like me. |

| The shot was his 12 week distemper shot. He did fine with his 8 week according to the breeder. He sure yelled and screamed with this one. The vet said he is a pretty dramatic dog, but now maybe she'll think differently next time. She felt just awful too. He got so much special treatment after that. All the employees there just loved up on him!! He is back to his spunky self now and is sitting right here next to me chewing on his chew toy. After having him for only about 3 weeks, I love this guy to pieces!!

| So glad your Starsky is ok. Bet it scared the poot out of you. The breeder I am getting my new puppy from, said to make sure the Vet doesn't give a shot with Lepto in it. I don't know what it is and if I even spelled it right, but she said it has killed a lot of puppies when given to them. I wonder if that shot had it in it. Maybe some breeder could help with explaining about it. You do fall in love with them fast.

| I am happy that he is okay! Please do a follow up with your vet to find out what caused 5 puppies to have a reaction. I am very curious. Reagan |
