| Phantom Pregnancy questions?? My 4 year old Boykin Spaniel seems to be having a phantom pregnancy. I called my vet to see what I should do. I told him I want to get her spayed and he said to wait until the milk dried up. Sadie is also chewing and biting her hair out like she did when she had a litter last year and he said she will experience everything the same as she did last year...eek. He told me to give her omega 3 or 4 oils..where do I find that to add to her diet to prevent the itching? Also he said her false pregnancy will last as long as a real one..but how do you calculate when it will be over with. I know the milk comes in at the end of a real pregnancy so would this be the same with a false pregnancy? Is there any advice you could give me? The vet said are you sure she isnt pregnant and I am 99% sure she isnt as I do not believe she came in contact with a male and I do not feel any babies in her belly. I am just worried about my big girl and I worry that she will be aggressive with my little ones thinking she is protecting her "babies" that arent there. Any help would be appreciated. Dawn |

| I'm sorry I can't help you, I know nothing about this. Just wanted to wish you good luck and hope your baby gets through this. What did the vet say?

| In a false pregnancy they go through everything they do when they are pregnant. The milk should come in at the end of the false preg. just like a real preg. Also she could get aggressive protecting her phantom pups. I don't know why the vet won't spay her now though. My step mom took her dog to the vet and had it spayed and she was pregnant!
