| Question about post neutering I had my 3 yo male (Mo) neutered on Thursday. Everything is looking good but I noticed this afternoon that his scrotum is turning color--reddish. I am assuming maybe it is bruising. Has anybody else experienced this? I just wondered if it is normal. He is on an antibiotic. With it being a holiday weekend, I thought I would check here for a little pc. of mind. Thanks, Jamie

| I would think everything is just fine and he's already on an antibiotic so you can rule out infection. I've always been told that a normal incision should have minimal redness and swelling and no oozing and to examine the incision every day and it should look the same or better than the day before. |

| His incision looks great! His scrotum had completely changed color by last night but I think it is lessening today. It was really dark red last night almost black. He is acting fine and eating, pottying etc. I think it might be lessening some today, however, I am still going to call on Tuesday and ask my Vet--depending on what it looks like by then. I appreciate the responses I got--thanks. It does help to hear from others.

| The same happened when my cat was neutered. Are you sure he isn't licking himself in that area..........sometimes it aggravates it? |

| My little guy's scrotum was a very dark color prior to his being neutered... So - I didn't notice much difference afterward.. Carol Jean |

| His little area is looking much better. I am sure it was bruising now. I am glad that's all "behind" us! Pun intended! Hopefully, that was my last hurdle with Mo for a while.
