Greenie danger?? I was just reading the thread about bully sticks & was surprised to see some of the worry about greenies. Please enlighten me Snickers is now 7 months old, but I still consider myself to be a newbie, considering he's my first yorkie & first any kind of dog in a loooooong time. He really likes greenies...but is there something I should be looking out for? Thanks! Jamie

Greenies are not digestible. They get caught in their digestive track and can cause MAJOR damage. When you are looking to get something for your little one to chew on, check the package and make sure that whatever you get is 100% digestible! Mine LOVE Nylabones Healthy Edibles. They come in all different flavors and are 100% digestible.

Wow, I totally didn't know that they could get caught in the digestive track. I have been giving Snickers about 2 greenies a week. Well, they aren't actually the brand 'Greenie', but a dental chew that I got from the vet & are the same thing. Makes you wonder about vets & small dogs. I've tried the nylabone healthy edibles, but a itsy piece got caught in his beard & wouldn't wash out....I had to cut it. Maybe I'll try the bully sticks...after reading the other thread it seems like the babies really like them.

| You can do a search for "greenies" on this site and read all of the horror stories.

My vet said there is ash in the greenies and that it solidifies instead of breaks up in the digestive tract. Therefore obstructs!!! Hate greenies !!!!

ok...just did the search on greenies and now I'm all worried that Snickers may have some 'pieces' in him.....Fortunately, I ran out just the other day & haven't had time to go to the store. Hopefully its all out of his system.

I had heard that greenies were giving dogs trouble but I thought it was only for choking so I sit with Louie when he eats them (I thought I was being so careful!!!) no more greenies for my little man! Thanks for the updates!!
