Default Rawhide's?

Hi everyone,
My puppy loves rawhide sticks. She chews on them like crazy I think because she is teething but I'm wondering is there a limit on how many she should be getting. Will they hurt her if she has too many?
Thanks,
Brande

There are concerns with rawhide getting stuck in the throat or expanding...others here know more about that.

You might want to look into getting bully sticks, hooves, or Merrick's Flossies.

how old is your puppy? Most vets will tell you that rawhide is too harsh on a pups stomach and can easily upset it and well as rawhide can chunk off and cause choking problems.

I actually recommend bully sticks, or Booda cornstarch bimples. they crumble and are fully digestable and are NOT harsh on the stomach.

hope this helps.

I, personally, allow Baby to eat rawhide (Dingos). She's 10 lbs and 10 months old. But I watch her like a hawk.

Embarassed Thanks

for the replies everyone...Roxy is 4 months old...she loves them and I deff. think she is getting too many. I'll try to limit them to one a week. She digest them fine but if their fatty I don't really want her to have so many. I always watch her with them I just don't want to deprive her totally of them since she does love them so much...I'd feel bad.

Where do you get the Booda cornstarch bimples? I've never heard of them.

Petsmart. They're usually next to the toys or next to the rawhides. They are wonderful and tigger goes nuts for them.

be careful where the rawhide comes from as ones from places like china have dog in them.

so true but those are very hard to find. I'd ask your vet about where to find ones made in the US.

Bully sticks are fantastic, or, if you want something that's odourless but your dog will LOVE - try Texas Toothpicks! Oscar and Ruthie LOVE em!

What about Nylabones for your pup to chew on?

I'm going to go to Petsmart tomorrow and get some of the Booda whatchamacallits. My Misha is 11 weeks old and they sound like they would be good for her.

Make sure to get the smallest one. Best of luck. Most dogs favorite flavor is the dark brown I believe it's roast ribs.
