| Does anyone feed Life's Abundance food? I was looking at their website and it looks pretty good but I'm no good at the food comparison game. I've been feeding Innova but recently switched to their Lamb and Rice formula (mainly for Jo)...I think it goes by California Natural...I threw the bag away so I don't have it in front of me right now. Does anyone feed L.A. and if so do your dogs like it? |

| arent' food choices confusing??? Looked at their website, of course every manufacturer claims they sell the best food! But even when I find general info about choosing foods, or dog nutrition I always end up even more confused!

| I just got my free sample in the mail on Saturday. Sissy, my picky eater, actually ate a few pieces of the kibble. The Jury is still out on whether she will actually eat the food if I order it. The heart smart treats that came with the sample were a big hit. She wolfed that right down, so I'm at least gonna order those. The food sounds great and it was developed by a vet.

| The dry food is on the small side, but not as small as some of the small bites I've seen. It is pretty hard, but she chews it okay. The treats are heart-shaped and pretty big, so I break those into tinier pieces. She chews them okay, too. If you go to their website, you can order a sample.

| HealthyPetNet and Life's Abundance food, my opinion Hi to everyone. This is my first post here and I'm glad to have found this forum. I have a 4 year old Yorkie and just recently switched to Life's Abundance. I have been using it for the past 4 months. I am very fussy about what my dogs eat (yes, I have 2 chihuahuas and just got a s**tzu 2 weeks ago....actually those 3 dogs live with my daughter upstairs from me but all 4 play together and eat together. It's a true crazy house!) Back to the food, it is very small and I would guess it's very palatable because this is the first time my dog actually dives into his dish to eat. I have used so many organic foods in the past and there were days where his food just sat in the dish barely touched. I always wondered if he was starving. I now find myself really feeding him as he should be fed and he eats pretty heartily. I used the heartshaped dog treats also. At first he loved them and now they're a dust collector in a jar! I think if he's desperate, he will try a piece. I also used their vitamins. Don't even go there. The smell is overpowering and my dog runs the other way. I've disguised it in every form, put it in peanut butter and I have to play games with him to get him to swallow it. I have given up. I am on an 8 week repeat order delivery with them. I never stop researching and testing so if I find something else, I will test it. I recently went back to testing Flint River Ranch. The pieces are too chunky, not equal sizes at all, I tried all the variety sample bags and he still hated it 4 years later! I will review this again at a later time if you'd like, or you can ask me any questions about the products and I'll try to answer as best I can. Nice forum here. |

| I fed my kids Life's Abundance the Fish and Sweetpotato formula for over a year. I specifically changed to that food because I had heard rave reviews about the quality (it IS a very high quality food) and because it was supposed to work miracles on coat condition. My Chattie has a dry coat, and after a year on the food there was no change. I went from there to Innova EVO (great food, but too high in protein) to Canidae All Life Stages(another GREAT food). I have just opened a bag of Blackwoods Lamb and Rice. I am going to give that a try 'cause it seens to be a GREAT food, my kids love it and I can buy it 2 miles down the road as opposed to traveling 45 miles for the Canidae. |

| I always wonder who really tests these so-called private label foods and if it is not some kind of pyramid scam to sell a product. It reminds me of the vitamins that my nutritionist sells and swears that the product is 100% genuine and can cure illnesses that doctors haven't been able to do in a century! Yet when I go to research the vitamins online, there are so many controversial issues over how much money one can make and what a scam the product is, and I see that no vendor actually backs up the products on the forums and claims how it beneficial it is to their clients' health! Seems to be a money thing. I know HealthyPetNet has that same type of setup because when I go to order, I'm always given a different sales rep to send me the product on the East Coast. I can call their offices, which you have to do if you want to change your autoship order. Who knows who Dr. Jane whatever her name is and how she formulates the product and if she really oversees it? I still use the product but my dogs don't have health issues other than my Yorkie has a collapsed trachea problem that nothing but surgery MIGHT correct. There are no guarantees so I haven't done it. I like going to a store to buy my products; I'm not fond of having to constantly order via the Internet and I'm not happy that if I want to change my order I have to call them. There is no place to do a change online. So I keep searching.... |
